Same as me; looking to go from 73.x to sub 72.

Particularly for those of us not doing over 10h a week ‘proper training’ regularly any more, I can highly recommend Intermittent Fasting. That and bodyweight exercises.

Yep totally - it’s a no brainer. Has always worked for me

Not great though if you have a drink :tumbler_glass: :grimacing: well - all discipline goes out the window as is probably self evident

I think ultimately J smith is right - it’s down to simple calorie deficit.

this CICO reference made me think of @joex - not heard from him for a while? Last post 14th Dec

Hope all Ok fellah :+1:

I was just thinking that exact same thing and wondering if he had a Xmas avatar, so I missed his name or something? But I think you’re right, not been around.

I’m here. Never left. I changed my username and picture a while back because I was paranoid I had overshared about work stuff.

Day 2 - wait, I was so good and didn’t lost anything yesterday. Not fair!!!

So 70.5 yesterday 70.1 this morning. So just shy of a 3kg increase since the start of December. All down to Christmas grub and beer which I love

So the goal by the end of March is to get down below 67kg. Nothing radical here:

  • Stop eating massive amounts of high calorie food. We polished off the last of the Christmas sweets last night and are now back to our normal eating habits
  • Get back to drinking just at the weekend. Will probably introduce some low alcohol beer. Its the same calories but obviously a little healthier. Erdinger isn’t too bad.
  • Gradual increase in the training. Once I start doing long runs (over 10 miles) the weight starts to shift

The biggest problem for me is the food. I was shocked at how easily I slipped into over eating (you know when you are actually stuffed but still keep on eating) and getting back is going to be hard

Bummed out this morning. Usually when I stop drinking I get a nice little drop, not sure why some sort of alcohol related bloat. But nothing, in fact it crept up slightly, only a tiny amount so normal variance.

Keep going, might just be taking a day or two longer this time.

I haven’t put any weight on over Xmas. With working away most weeks and cold that turned into a cough I have done almost no training for the last 6 weeks of 2023. Currently at 70.3kg, my ideal would be 65kg but not putting any timeline on it. Work is likely to change in Feb but not sure to what and whether there will be travel or not. But once we eat through the food that is in the house and me exercising regularly and it will start coming off without a real focus on weight. Planning to do more strength work this year and think more lean body mass will help. That might sound counter but when I was much, much stronger than I am now I was lighter than I am now.

All good - and the social media world is slowly and gently moving everyone away from the fallacy of CICO :+1:. I always win, it just sometimes takes longer for people to realise I’ve won. Unlike my triathlon.

87.7kg yesterday after being given an extraneous pizza the night before. Winter peak I should think. Still averaging 86 since summer.

Blood pressure may be improving after two months on drugs. Had a normal reading last night at the docs. Or maybe that was the time off work…

Win what?

In the long term we are all going to win that way I guess, as CI will be zero & CO will slowly fade through decomposition to a stable lean mass of around 3kg :skull_and_crossbones:

Might as well give up running and turn to darts
