I had a quick look at the link & saw that they also do triathlons at Vassiviere which is where I did a Swimrun last year…lovely place.
Just popping out, shall have a more detailed look later

If you want a French race there’s a good one in St Jean de Luz, between Biarritz and the Spanish border. We did the standard race many years ago - lovely sea swim in a sheltered bay, lumpy bike and flat run.

Those Emblem organisers love a lumpy bike course don’t they? Also, nice late starts & very reasonable costs.
We’ve camped on The Tarn, near Millau about 15yrs ago & I cycled the route in the book The Rider by Tim Krabbé.

Haha, yeah the bike routes certainly weren’t flat on the couple I looked at. Prices seemed reasonable as well but guessing they aren’t closed roads but if they’re quiet that’s not a huge problem and ADH is mostly open roads.
Not sure I’ll fit one in next year but tempted depending on how other races go.

That Saint Lary triathlon looks brutal, you climb Col du Portet which is a beast, did it a few years ago.
Does look like you climb and descend the same narrow road which seems a bit sketchy
