There are people in Weymouth who swim in the sea all year round. Harbour dash on boxing day (non wetsuit) is very cold
Iāve done the Xmas day swim at Exmouth a number of times, but thatās about it. Though swim is pushing it a bit! More tlike hundreds of people in fancy dress sprinting into the water, splashing baout for 2 mins and then getting out! Good way to earn the mulled wine at the pub!

Iām on the next island across, the water here is a lovely 22C
I was surfing in Rhosnigr on Saturday but I would want to get in and do 3.8km
I might go for Fireworks swim next weekend as enjoyed last year. But thatās a nice social 500m with lots of hot chocolate after.
Salford Quays do one when all the neon lights are there - which looks pretty spectacular.
But, after my April dip and freeze, Iām out.
I expected to freeze last year as not great in cold, but 10 minutes in a wetsuit with neoprene hat was the enjoyable side of challenging. Think it was 12C.
