Best/Worst Roll of Honour

Private Equity?

Anyways … that Frontier 300 I did was absolutely fantastic. Proper grass roots event. Affordable at £145 and easy to keep it green. Trains were super simple and quicker than driving. And cheaper. Was £8 from Manchester Airport to Dumfries single (bought months in advance) and £12 Morpeth to Manchester. Plus £2.80 on a CoOp meal deal for breakfast, £7 on a pizza van for supper and £4.50 for a sausage bap and coffee at Morpeth station. That was it. The organiser provided free coffee in the morning and food all day.

Tor Divide 200 Peaks was also awesome, even though I did a somersault, bruised my ribs and DNFd. I’ll be back there in 2026.

Triathlons? Dunno. Planes and holidays stress me out. So it wouldn’t be abroad. Forestman was good, showed me New Forest, where I went back on holiday numerous times. Outlaw nice and accessible. I’d never do Bolton or Staffs again. Just a bit meh.

Bala was my personal favourite. I just loved it. Clear and cold swim, out and back bike, out and back run. Magic. 2/80/20. Perfect.

In a similar vein, a friend just brought the Gralloch Ultra to my attention.

Good point, very few trains in D&G….probably a decent bus service from Dumfries to Gatehouse of Fleet.

(ETA, the friend who mentioned it had done The Frontier you did.)

Well. £130. I’m convinced.

Will check out transport and see if dates work.

Honestly, those four photos alone have convinced me!

I’m guessing they are AI generated though. The sky appears to have some blue colour, and there is no water falling from it.

Same day as Tor Divide (Hope/Edale) and I can cycle to that one :sob:

But the dates work for me … however … I see The Wild Westie 400km ultra at Aberfoyle (Trossachs) is 27th June (longest day ISH) so that’ll be fun to do!!!
