Another one I really like is Osprey. My running pack is almost 10yo, and has well into 4 figures of kms on it. One zip broken and it’s struggling a bit. But longevity has been great as that’s mostly down to me not washing it! 
Also have a big 110l bag that goes on every holiday with us, have had a couple of day packs and now have a waist pack for running. Always good quality.

Whenever I look at an Osprey pack I think ‘I’ll check those out next time’. Then always play it safe and default to Salomon.

My original one was brilliant and got an absolute battering before getting thrown into the boot.
The follow up version was very disappointing.

I have an Osprey Transport 40 mini holdall/backpack. It doesn’t get used much so will probably last forever.
The TNF rucksack I use for travel/work I bought in 2004! Their stuff was good back then.

That’s interesting, in what way? Quality or fit?
Mine will need replacing next year I think. But there’s a hell of a lot more choice nowadays. When I got mine it was one of very few competitors for the Salomon that everyone had.

Salomon are a juggernaut of a brand but I’ve been pretty happy with nearly everything I’ve had from them.

I just don’t like the design of the pockets etc and how they are accessed, just feels like it’s a bit smaller and kind of diagonal zips.
Also seems to roll back on my shoulders but that could be my posture. Look at the rear storage areas if you get one.

Also had the big Osprey pack for about 7 years, used for everything, many flights including living out of it for 4 months round South America and barely a sign of wear on it

I used my Skinfit trisuit yesterday, must be at least 12 years old and has been excellent, was expensive though.

£475 for a year including classes
I do 2-3 spin classes a week the odd circuit class.
The real beauty is they let you suspend your membership when you go away with three trips to Thailand in 12 months the last time I paid was mid Feb 2025
It’s due tomorrow .. one expense I can’t moan about, I’m always there.
Fantastic brand . They have other gyms in the northwest .. I hope they are as good.

Choose wisely from their extensive offerings and you get good quality at a decent price.
Same goes for IKEA

A few years ago I’d have been with you. Since Covid, I find most of their stuff to be awful.

Pool is small ( 19 m)
No watt bike ( c2 bikes?!)
HYROX wise .. they have all the genuine stuff
Weights are weights a boxing bag is a boxing bag
The staff are brill and it’s clean
Hydro therapy really helps the legs
For 500 quid I’m happy

That’s a good price for a gym with a pool.
I’m paying a little bit more than that for my Pure Gym.
For a gym with a pool I’d be paying double that in London

Swam 3 x 400 today ( after boxing it was more like drowning than swimming ?!) one breast stroker
It’s a really busy gym .. nobody swims.. well not at the time of day I go.
400 without classes but I probably do 75? Classes a year a quid a go I can live with
