Ali is being smart. This is not the Ali of the last 2/3 years where he had to win it on the bike; suggests he has confidence in his run and is conserving while being near the front.
Luis is a mind-f&£k. Looked like a little boy when interviewed but all shoulders and wide legs like a linebacker on the bike.

Yes, but the run is going to be much more fascinating than earlier I feel. It’s going to be a proper shootout. There could be a good 15+ people in contention

That horrid flat course is going to cost some athletes as well. Rising that hard with no letup in power or position. There’ll be some legs that will really complain getting off the bike.

TBH, if this was any other year, this would rate as the most boring race on the circuit.

Bowden is a strong 1/2 mara runner. If he’s still in the mix at t2 he could go well.

Given the way this is now setup, being at the front of the line like AB has been for most of the race is probably the safest place to be. No chance of a penalty, and you’re probably not losing much in extra energy expenditure.
