Rare commute for me today because I’m planning on a longer ride home.
Forgot what a faff it was but not helped by my ineptitude

My inbound commute today was a complete waste of time. Guards were turning everyone away as there is no water on site

Well, obviously I had also immediately thought “long bike ride”, but now we’ve also got no water at home I’m thinking OW swim.
Just used the last of the water in the water butt to refill the toilet cistern 
.

The new ravemen light just arrived…. mainly cause I wanted to lift the magic shine lighthouse up a notch to avoid the stem bolts. Obvs a new light was the logical method.
It’s all nice and tidy with no cables and all out front - esp useful with the massive hoods of the new bike!!

Almost didnt make it unscathed today. Closest I’ve been to being hit in my 16 odd years.
White van man coming out side road / industrial estate. I’d had cars turn across me as he approached - so my spider senses had already triggered.
Tho despite proper hi viz, lights on day flash, sun direction favourable for him (not me) - out he came as I was almost directly infront. Oh did I fkin scream.

Two days into a 4 day tube strike and it’s an absolute shit show out on the roads around here.
Yesterday the traffic was a lot busier than usual and there was maybe twice as many bikes as normal.
Today the traffic was even worse and there was probably 4 or 5 times as many bikes on the road and most of the additional people seemed to be riding like cnuts
Add to that the addition pedestrians randomly wandering out into the road and the whole commute becomes really stressful
There seems to be a lot more people trying to get to work than there was during the last strikes. It seems like there’s more folks being forced to come into the office rather than just WFH

I’m in London on Thursday - going to walk to the office from Euston - will probably take just as long as the Tube and more pleasant - not sure why I haven’t done it before tbh

My first day couple of days of work in The Smoke on Thursday and Friday.
Do I need to bring the walking shoes to get from Paddington to Euston? Boris bike? Dunno how these things work being a country bumpkin 
If only I hadn’t rogered my right calf last night, currently pitching to starboard when walking, this isn’t great timing is it
