Cycling sunnies and opacity?

Managed to break my sunnies this weekend - forgot I was wearing them and removed a buff which snapped the hinge while whipping it off my head, so unrecoverable damage.

Looking around Wiggle, there’s a huge array of choice but the main factor for me is how dark they are - living in the desert and all that, means they really have to cut glare a lot more than a UK summer.

When I’ve tried non-cycling sunglasses, I’ve seen a huge variation in the amount of light cut out and was wondering if anyone has come across anything which provides guidance on the level of darkness provided by any given makes or style ?

TIA

Oakley have a chart that tells you how much visible light is transmitted by their various lenses.
