Raced today, massive course not many athletes. I didn’t see ant drafting which made a nice change.
Just a general tech thought, not sure where to put it.
Would it be possbile to issue each competitor with a GPS equipped mobile device to attach to their bike (or an app which they upload onto their own phone). This could broadcast their location every few seconds. It would allow accurate tracking for spectators, and also could be used to detect draft-cheating if 2 devices were close?
GPS is the wrong tech imo, it’s not fast/accurate/consistent enough, you want short range sensors doing it locally like RFID tags on every bike.

Yep, it was looked at ten or so years ago…but was inefficient and uneconomic…technology should have improved though…
