Inseine...Para-Oly commentary with spoilers

Isn’t that Ironman? Last time I did Austria in 2017 I was on a descent doing maybe 35/40 mph and got lapped by Jan Frodeno (olympic gold…) doing maybe 60/70 mph…

Lapped on the bike; that is savage.

To be fair, he had the pro start head start, then I started in the 1:25 swimming group of the rolling start so he probably had an hour on me.

I ran past a walking Andreas Raelert in his prime in 2011; he was walking it in to KQ after breaking the WR in Roth the previous month iirc. Triathlon lets us get so much closer to the ‘stars’ than most sports!

Joe Skipper was behind me in the queue for the portaloo before Swansea 70.3 the other week. It did occur to me that there aren’t many sports where that would happen

I was puking :face_vomiting: on the bike while the Brownlee’s went past a long time ago in Northumberland :joy:

Illness rather than effort related!

The mens mountain biking is crazy fast. I’d fall off my bike in the first 20 seconds I think.

I went to Hadleigh Park to do the parkrun a few years ago and took my mtb. Took one look and decided it was too extreme for me!

And the ridiculous channel hop on BBC has massively annoyed me!!! Why schedule that halfway through a key event :exploding_head:

Pidcock has a lot to do here, no sign of it happening either

my whole life has been sport…but my interests have waxed and waned over the years…

the whole commercialisation has been getting me down in recent years…as it has with other sports…partly the Beeb are to blame…and they are certainly paying the real price for the hike in costs for access to sport…
