Sounds like he needs to get himself on here and join the sub-9 threadâŚâŚ
The CoachCox website has been updated so you can display the slot allocation by âStartersâ old system that was in place for Leeds or âPerformanceâ new system.
https://www.coachcox.co.uk/imstats/race/2206/results/
Example: The 50-54 AG got 7 slots, if it had been the new system they would have only got 5 slots
Actual time 12 hours =~ 10 hours 48 minutes qualifying time in the M50-54 AG (its about a 90% adjustment factor in the M50-54 AG)
Had a quick look yesterday and with the new system the M50-54 generally gets less slots (one only half the slots), I did find a few races where they would have got the same and one where they got an extra slot but that seemed to be an exception.
Note:
Full IM is normalised again the M30-34 AG
70.3 is normalised against the M18-24 AG
I think there was a 70.3 in America recently where M55 got about 7 slots out of 30, but in 70.3 itâs 30 for each sex.
In Boise 70.3 which was new system
M55-59 got 2 slots of 35, it would have been 3 under the old system.
M50-54 got 3 slots of 35, it would have been 4 slots (I think)
The M40-44 seems to be at the biggest advantage from the new system in this particular race, going from 4 slots to 9 slots
Maine 70.3 might (unless I missed a 70.3 somewhere) be the one you were referring to M55-59 got 5 out of 30 instead of 2
Anyway, I really should go and do a bit of training as none of this affects me in anyway⌠lol
Were there 4 slots? Would 5th the first roll down slot?
Guess the roll downs, that you didnât need because Tenby slot were pretty deep with Nice so close.
Normalised Time 10h25, new system would have been an automatic slot (according the CoachCox website)
Male 50-54 has got to be the target demographic surely - wealthy enough to do it but still young enough to have the testosterone ego to think it worth it?
Surprised theyâre reducing the slots.
Yeah it was Maine, not sure why I thought it was more than 5, but M55 wouldnât normally get that many.
But unless the weighting system is unfairly bias towards the young, theyâre not âreducing slotsâ for the M50+ AG. They have the same number of slots as everyone else and can still qualify in their droves if they have the same relative performance.
If there is issues with other AGs not being wealthy enough to do it, then theyâll get the roll downs.
What it does to is stop them getting slots purely for turning up, and being lucky no one else good turned up on their day by coincidence.
So long as the weighting system calculations work, I think the intention behind the new system is great.
Myles has battered me on the bike on winter rides and I wouldnât even think about running with him. His marathon was almost boring to follow on the tracker as he ran the whole thing pretty much at 3:02 pace apart from near the end where he speeded up slightly and I thought he was going for sub-3.
I donât know him.
Just saw his bracelet and asked
17:34 the weekend after an Ironman.
On a long course
The bar has been set.
One of the zoomers who lives in our complex was carrying an IM Leeds rucksack when I followed him out this morning.
I thought the youngsters were all about hyrox these days
73 18-24 finishers
134 25-29
212 30-34 - biggest AG
Likewise women the bigger AGs were 25-34.
someone at the Rolldown said there were 6 Auto KQ Slots in M55-59
The reason I asked is I wondered if someone that was actually there could confirm if the Coachcox website was what actually happened regarding qualifying slots.
Traditional Slot allocation - without roll downs (current system for Leeds)âŚ
Performance based (new system)
I reckon I know just the poster to be able to answer that
Ha ha perfect
Heâs already got a slot for Nice!
That is why I asked⌠but as TC already has a slot he probably wasnt there.
I know.
Yeap, we discussed this.
Im just clarifing incase someone didnât get my comment(s)
