Is Blumenfeld legit?

the fact there is 40 replies to the question , shows that deep down there is some form of Suspicion

hopefully its just athletes using the latest gear & science that,s showing in the results/times

you only have to look at the top AG athletes times

NONE of them CHEAT !!

I think it is right that there is “healthy” suspicion. Lance got away with it for so long as anyone who questioned has performance was ostracised from the pro cycling community. It was basically a total cover up: However, I do not agree with the Twitch hunt mentality either

In many ways, Chelsea Sodero’s performance was even less credible, she blew away a really strong womens field, coming from nowhere with no prior races to back up her performance on the day

Consistent performances like Blummenfelt’s are much less suspicious to me than outlier performances. There’s an obvious one in the men’s race too!

(to be clear, I’m not accusing anyone of anything!)

I was going to say, there was another rather obvious one under that definition in the Men’s race at Kona. And that wasn’t just a big win like Sodaro. But blowing the doors off a bike record that was deemed to be pretty strong!

Again, like @r0bh, not insinuating anything there, but cementing the examples.

TBH it’s just so difficult to know. So i tend to just accept at face value, and what will be will be.

I think with that Kona Bike record - would be interesting to see what Cam could do if he had the benefit of being moto-paced for most of it

I have said this before but the main obstacle in long course triathletes doping is the expense. It isn’t simply the cost of the drugs but the expertise and a quiet, deniable method of getting the drugs, usually a dodgy doctor. However, with the amount of testing in LC triathlon you could probably not worry about ‘glowing’ when you tunr up at a race.

Sure you can buy stuff and use it but to maximise the benfits, while minimising the risks, takes some knowhow.

Many if you will be aware of Connor Benns two pos tests for a female fertility drug!

Hence the cancellation of his big PPV fight with Chris Jnr.
Eddie H is in deep water for attempting to “ still put the fight on” but I digress.

Looking back Connor did and said several “ strange” things, for me the most worrying aspect, and other pros picked up on this before the fans did is, CB always has a doctor in his camps?!

Said ….Dr Usman has some very strange views on peds and stated that 80-90% of boxers were on “ something” he also knew an “ unhealthy “ amount about drug hacks, if you take a set amount of TRT ( Testosterone) last thing at night, it has a half life of 8 hours, so your home free testing wise, micro dosing, drug deflection, contamination excuses etc.

The expertise people talk of is available from most semi pro body builders, those juice heads know bonkers amounts about drugs, there sport wouldn’t happen without them.

I do hope those two norgies are clean, as someone said on another site, if ones at it the other will be, or there both clean and we’re all horrible suspicious tw@@s and the Lance legacy lives on.

I disagree here. Sure these guys know a lot about anabolics and the like but get blooding wrong and yhe athlete can die. In endurance sport O2 transportation is the most important thing, recovery being the next.

Micro dosing EPO and blood doping cycles to maximise haematocrit, while ensuring the athlete doesn’t get caught or die takes skill. Ferrari, Fuentes, Del Moral, Leijnders earnt their money for good reason. Simply micro dosing EPO, while a help, isn’t the most effective use it.

One of them, who is very lean, but still 16 stone ran a 20;50 5k ( for a laugh) as you do! he stated he simply couldn"t run 3 miles when he was off cycle, he uses HGH alot and does do much more cardio than most of them.
If you look at the two athletes in question and the people they are surrounded by, most ped circles are quite small, they would easily have the contacts, resources and basic knowledge of how to get started at least. If you look at Connor Benns Doctor, I"m sure he could point them in the right direction, if indeed he is “at it”
Testing in Elite and certainly AG Tri is a joke, apart from a series of deaths in elite skiers some time ago,( they all seem to survive the process) blood doping /EPO is still the most effective practice, putting even a small regular amount into an all ready highly trained body has “Dramatic” effects according to several books

Forgot about that fight. Hadn’t realised it had been cancelled. The talk was wasn’t it that it would still go ahead but not being officially sanctioned or something …

Eubank Senior was going mad about the fight before it, everyone thought he had just …gone mad!
Apparently, he had a “word” that something was off in the CB camp, and his son had to weigh 157? looks like he was right.
Benn then never attempted to renew his BBBC licence, said he was contaminated by eggs, (they have found trace amounts of Clomifene in eggs but you have to eat 30 a day for a week!?) and said he would prove his innocence?!
To date nothing really.
Fast Eddie distanced himself from the huge shit storm as we knew he would.

A Kazak fighter called Aidos Yerbossynuly is currently an induced coma after his fight at the weekend, i am in no way inferring that the other Guy, Morrel i think is anything but clean, but one day a fighter is going to die in the ring and the other guy/girl is going to test pos…Murder? Manslaughter?
Boxing and MMA has bigger problems then who can swim bike and run the fastest.

Didn’t Ricco nearly kill himself with a self- administered blood transfusion after the blood had gone off in his fridge? :flushed:

That’s why they need carful administration

And why some (devils advocates/debate provoking) of my MSc tutors suggest doctors should be involved in administering in a legal system, similar to a safe needle policy.

NB: I don’t believe that’s their actual opinion, or mine, just trying to get us to challenge our arguments.

I did toss around the idea of a cyborg/mutant division for the Olympics a few years ago, but I think we came out on the side of preventing athletes from harming themselves (and thereby the children training to be athletes).

not necessarily in a safe and legal system…but publicising the very real risk of feking it up without medical support may well put some athletes off…

the down side of that of course is that only the current winners earn enough dosh to pay the dodgy doctors, or it is state sponsored (Russia, team BritSky etc)

Some.

I think my views differ from most on here as to use and effectiveness as I’ve met several who have used peds but only for the mirror, the results are pretty amazing … not the clock as we would do ( obviously we wouldn’t)

A side effect seemed to be a big improvement in general fitness, I’m 100% convinced that if an average grouper took a simple test programme he would improve quite dramatically just through hugely increased recovery times.

The heavy stuff EPO, hgh blood tampering etc, I have little personal experience of but I’m sure by micro dosing ( at first) the improvements for most of us on here would be quite dramatic, if we didn’t kill out selves I guess.

Chances of getting caught are very slim ( how many on here have actually been tested?)

Big blue obviously does get tested, he’s either a freak getting 102% out of himself, which is possible with all the science or… you know the alternative.

several of my coached athletes have been tested since 2019 and a dozen or so of the team athletes…
