I get told off constantly for the ‘trail shoe butterfly’ as they’re known by the kids!
Yeah not sure how the scooter has found it’s home there and not in the shed! We’ve been waiting for over a month for the bloody cushions on the sofa to dry so they can be crammed into the no space shed. But it just keeps on frippin raining!
Same, we used to buy a crappy BBQ every year, forget to put it away, come to use it next summer and its fallen apart from rust. Was only when I got the big cast iron jobby I bothered to get a cover and actually look after it
When we moved to where we are now (our ‘forever home’) I bought a nice (near bottom of the range) Weber gas BBQ and each autumn give it a bloody good scrub and put it away for the winter. There’s a bit of rust on the flimsy frame thingy that it sits on but the main unit is going strong nine years later. It’s paid for itself easily by now.
I barely even clean ours, certainly not a good scrub, just a hose down with the power washer (which is a low power one mostly for CX bike washing) and then leave it there.
A whole flipping day to fit one kitchen cupboard panel. The added b&q trip didn’t help but goodness me that nearly killed me. One more panel and the kickboard to go…
Possibly more one for the rant threat, but I’m probably going to be forced into the DIY as I can’t get anyone to actually come and fix it…
Anyone changed the LNB on a sat dish, I assume it’s an easy job? The one on the house here is old and not for freesat, so I need to swap it, unfortunately it’s high on the house so I need a ladder, so I figured I’ll just get a guy, unfortunately that’s proven to be rather difficult with them just not being arsed to turn up etc. So I’ll probably DIY and save myself 100quid, unless I don’t manage to borrow a ladder, in which case I’ll own a ladder.
I’ve changed one once as I wanted a 4x output. Honestly don’t remember anything about the actual swap except that it was straight forward. That’s probably not much help
So no luck on a ladder, and it’s ~5m up (gutter level basically so whatever that is), so that’s not a cheap ladder, and a pain to store… contemplating now just buying a new dish and putting it lower where I can reach with just the little ladder, snipping the cables that are there, but that means also getting the drill out and mount it…
May also not quite have the sight line, but I can’t actually see why it needs to be that high.
And it’s shit, latency on switching channels is way too high for me! Also freely doesn’t exist, so it’s 20-30 quid for Sky unless you want loads of different apps to get live - I actually mostly watch live TV, not netflix or stuff.
Can’t remember the last time I watched live TV, but then I’m not into live sports. Do you have a community Facebook? Round my way I could put a post up and bung someone £20 to bring their ladders over.
