PEDs

And this link gives “Bad Gateway”.

Oh the irony.

He looks pretty natural … oh wait !

Didnt know where to put this, but here seemed most appropriate. Fat Lads Worlds 50-54 AG podium

I wonder what the average life expectancy of long term steroid users is.

Seems to be fine for Steve Redgrave.

Most top athletes discover this during the height of their career

Maybe some just use everything else and save T until they have retired and doing gran fondo racing in 50-54 AG.

This has started appearing on my feed, maybe targeting my demographic, looks like anti-aging clinics are heading this way now :face_with_symbols_over_mouth:

I’m sure some people do genuinely have problems but this lot will probably have high thresholds to convince people they have a problem, long term use is dangerous. But too many people want the quick fix these days.

I’m not saying he’s an unattractive weakling, but I’m not sure that ad is sending the message it means to.

Not sure if you have Dan McP on socials @Mungo2 but he’s posted this evening he was selected for doping control at Nice. One anecdote is probably nothing in the overall numbers, but there is a hint of random AG testing

I have Alex Dalton, Tom hopwood, super Tom ( that’s what everyone calls him now! ) on my Facebook friends thingy.

I’ve raced and BEAT Alex and Tom H … Jesus they would leave me for dead now, who is racing Tom Rigby these days …? You maybe ?!

Only know Dan through a fast runner friend of mine who was amazed that an older triathlete could get within 5 secs of him on a stand alone 5 k.

The tests are good to see, totally random? Did the win IM Florida ? And podium worrier most races?!

I know people who have been near the sharp end for decades and never been tested.

Was it VADA ? Ironman ? Or a French testing agency?

He’s the most Tri Preston of the group in some ways. Yes he won IM Florida overall AG field as a 40-44 (Or is he 44-49?!) And think has podium at UK the past 2 years.

Continued improvement the past 5 years since he got serious and started putting in huge volume of aerobic work. >1000 hours SBR last year.

Wish I could claim to be in the same race as Rigby. Think he was 30 min ahead at UK ‘19 with 40’ from the bike. And judging by how his race wins since I don’t think I’ve narrowed the gap

Harald being a Doctor always made me  Likely unfairly.

Is Valverde still racing?

Jalabert and Vino are on the start list for Sunday over here!

Bizarrely I have a begrudging admiration of Vino for the way he chanced the London road race and won. He was probably doped up but took all the big teams by surprise and made his move.

No way guys with that experience would be +ve on race week.

Yeah, not on race day but in the training blocks before?

As amateurs ?!

That is proper shit !
As a pro it’s awful but I at least understand the pressures.

As a knocking on 60 year old just to say look at me, your test declines for a reason.
I’d like to think there using days were decades ago but there are some very strange people in tri.
