I honestly can’t remember somebody popping hot twice and …. Nothing happened.

A 278 page document saying …. SFA

The WBC gave him a ready made excuse and he wouldn’t accept it?!?

This could be the beginning of the end

Ah. The old “undetected congenital heart condition” strikes again.

Colour me sceptical.

My Exercise Physiology professor initially did his post doctoral work in Belgium with a cycling team. He quit that as his role was making sure the team were blood doping safely. It was the pre-EPO era. Teams that did it badly had young men dying. He said that it obviously wasn’t what he thought he would be doing. He didn’t want to be party to one of his team dying.

wow, what era was this? 80s, 90s?

Peak early EPO was peak doping deaths - the alarms to wake up in the middle of the night to pedal furiously on a turbo to ensure, as they were dying in their sleep from heart attacks - from 88 - they’d sorted out things by the early 90’s.

After the EPO test, there was another load of deaths in early 2000’s including Pantani, that could’ve been infected blood bags etc. as EPO was presumably off the table.

Pantani went out in a depressive orgy of coke I thought?

(Or was it a mob whack?)

Possibly/probably, it’s part of the problem of assigning deaths to doping, as there were a load of cases at the same time as Pantani, but Pantani may well not have been doping, so were the others, or just “natural causes”?

Would have been late 80s.

Pantani died of cocaine OD I thought. He wasn’t doping or even cycling shortly before his death. He obviously was doping when competing but his cocaine useage had taken over by the end of his life.

Hilarious and sad.

We should only care about racing against countries we have a reasonable level of confidence in. So, GBR and …. Ah. Umm.

A boxer who will earn a fortune on Saturday night fighting against the face of boxing ( who himself has tested pos twice ) allegedly jumped fences and ran down the street when the vampires arrived.

SFA happened.

Why didn’t he just not hear his door bell like any clean athlete

Its not the ones that dropped out I like its the woman who ran the race and then carried on running while the tester chased her. Classic. Like a Benny Hill sketch

This was some time ago

People still slate him for it. Lots of people still haven’t watched bens come back fight, so the anti ped movement is growing in combat sports

A sprinter takes PED’s, the most damage they can do is run a bit faster than the guy next to them, a boxer is doped, they could kill someone. I wonder if there’s a criminal legal situation that could one day arise from a death or serious injury in the ring and the other is on T or HGH or something.
