I remember Cav coming out about how he ended up not where he should be at short notice, forgot to update Adam and that was the day the testers showed up. He had another forgetful incident later that year, think it was a crash / illness or something meant he wasn’t where he should be. He then employed someone to take care of it for him! didn’t get to 3. 1 is unlucky, 2 is careless at best, but 3; there’s a reason it’s 3 in a year! 3 times you arent where you are meant to be for 1 hour a day due to an incident, and then those 3 times the testers have to show up also. What are the odds on that coincidence
How late can you update your wereabouts for the next day? Is it as simple as making sure it’s up to date before you go to bed?
I do wonder if sometimes the testers know someone is not where they are supposed to be, so target them deliberately.
Almost certainly, it’s all part of the game to ensure that the testers look like they’re doing something, but doing everything they can to make sure they don’t catch people.
I think most athletes either choose an early morning time slot when they know they are going to be at home or they choose their training venue if they’re based at a track or a training centre.
I guess it gets more complicated if you’re away from home competing or training
More lax than that, anytime before the selected hour so you pick 9-10 at the pool, at 8.59 is ok
So the women’s marathon record holder who made a sudden breakthrough from an otherwise mediocre career has withdrawn from the London Marathon because she’s not mentally in the right place.
How long before we here about an adverse finding being investigated?
He shouldn’t have behaved like a twat at the whereabouts training session then. He allegedly joked that his password was EPO
Cynical ..?!
The previously “ unbeaten “ hyrox king was 6 th at the world champs last year
Or was it 23?
This was the first year that they did testing for the elite 15, a seperate race for the best in the world
Previously he won everything
Coincidence ?
Cynical ?
Follow this guys tubes, and feel let down yet again by someone I read and watch with interest, how can a former Olympian , Collegiate coach and all round fair dinkum Aussie promote and link up with such crap.

That’s a shame
This might explain some of his thought process, but not justify it
yes he was very outspoken about that, but seemed to ignore the fact that Kyle Chalmers was allegedly swimming with a TUE for a Cortisone injection to the shoulder
“liked by cam wurf”. I know that doesn’t equal endorsement, but I’d still be avoiding that association
I always thought these games would struggle to attract any athlete who was currently good and would be filled with lower tier or retiree’s. But that sprint freestyle and trying to break Cielo record seems to be one area they’ve pushed for from the start recruiting Magnusson and now this guy.
“The project also plans to market “performance and longevity enhancements” to the general public this summer.”
so it’s an advert for selling (probably) testosterone anti-aging products…
He apparently earned $1m for doing it, so probably worth it for someone who was only 5th at the olympics
Yes, financially short-term, with the gamble he got the record.
But in my mind before this anyone jumping was the end of a career and following a passion. No longer welcome in coaching squads etc. Or so I would have thought/hoped. The fact Bret Hawke is now affiliated with them suggests otherwise.
They have a piece on the Science of Sport podcast on this which I haven’t finished listening to yet. But they say he was banned from most pools and squads in Australia because he admitted he would be doping, and initially couldn’t find a coach who would take him.
They are also using the old swim suits, and picking the pool, so how much is down to drugs and how much to other banned tech? Pretty poor job if they failed given the parameters they have set themselves.
This is just a totally weird concept
Spending millions to prove peds actually work.
I’m assuming there are no combat sports at these “ games”?!
Which was my thoughts at the start, that if they could attract a retired hasbeen then would drugs make up the difference in talent?
Thinking about picking select pools, many pools (eg Leeds John-Charles) have a strong circular current worth >0.5s/length from the filtration systems. If they’re just doing a one way swim then maybe they’ll forget they need to turn those off the day before
