I do like how the BBC articles constantly point out that most of the drop is down to energy prices dropping and naff all to do with anything the government has done. Government also seem to miss the fact that inflation control is the job of the independent Bank of England.

Either way he will be liking it and I see he has already started talking tax cuts.

Surely a lot of the rise was down to energy price rises, either directly or indirectly, too?

My 1 yr fix saver matures at the end of the month, I’m hoping there’s still some good rates left by then for the next one.

Yeah I think it was, they were already on the up post covd, then Ukraine made them mad, and of course everything else you buy relies on energy to make and transport it so that was a big part of the rise.
