@gingerbongo don’t you have a pb well below 17?
Hahahahahahahahahaha
Some of us are nearly 50 and not genetic freaks
16:47, isn’t it?

He seems to have trouble with the 17 minute barrier
I really don’t think he can do it solo.
(Of course, I am joking and just egging him on)
@jaylen84 for the double 5w/kg + sub 17
he should be sub 16 more like!!
And yeah,i do seem to have quite a few close to that 17 mark! I guess that’s endemic of shooting for that particular time. TBH i think my PB is soft, i have never felt like i’ve had a good race when in peak form. Some of my 17.0Xs have been great runs, as i didn’t expect to be back there. But on my PB day, i 'should’ve been closer to 16.30.
@Chriswim i must say that i am FAR from that fitness right now!!! Sub 18 would be a push at this point in time. But my improvement is accelerating under my current ‘regime’. So i should, hopefully, be back there soon. Just need to get me grubby mitts on some Alphas!!
I HAD MY MITTS ON THEM!!!
They were in my US basket (with my US account)…I had the text to my UK phone, with the one-time verification code…tried shipping them to the UK - computer says no.
Got onto Chat with Nike, no way, Jose. No delivery to the UK.
Someone had them on at Stafford Half Marathon this weekend (from my friends Strava photos)
Anyway, would you want them now? Covered in Corona?
Dunk em in a bucket of vodka. Jobs a goodun
Still #1 in my postcode though!! (there’s not much competition!!! )

6th in my postcode, being “chicked” at the moment
It’s missing quite a few of my results from “back in the day”
I never trained specifically for 5Ks - fellrunning was my bag - but I dipped under 16mins a couple of times back in the day at Christleton & Capenhurst.
I might have my wee black training diary at the back of a cupboard somewhere. I’ll have a look for it.
It seems like yesterday but I’m assured it was 2007
.
Nice
Suggests there was a fair bit more in the tank had you trained (more) specifically for that then!
Did 15:58 a few weeks back… was hoping to try for a sub-32 10k in an April race but 15:58 wasn’t fast enough and the races are all cancelled now anyway…!
As always, looking back I could have possibly bettered my times if I had trained differently but I thoroughly enjoyed fell racing, particularly the shorter ones.
I found my 2007 diary when I did Christleton in 15:58 when I would’ve been 37 & my kids 5 & 9. 2 years earlier I did Capenhurst in 15:54, but I had nothing in my 2005 diary.

Jeezus I loved racing in them days.
Christ!!!
Talk about going off too fast
Bloody great
Sighter done. Sub-20 in surprisingly cold and windy evening. Reckon I can find a flatter loop too. Next step to average 6min/ml when I feel a bit fresher. Sub-18 might be doable, but 17 is a long way off.
Cheers.
Admittedly it was a fast start, you’re always going to get that with a class field, but it’s also slightly downhill so effort wise I wasn’t expending too much more than that dodgy looking 2nd km…or maybe I just rolled the fucking dice
