Cracking stuff @Chriswim - that is one fricking superb result. Chapeau!! With bells on……

ETA: interesting to see Ai Ueda on the results in 30th. Must be her 1st IM I reckon as she was racing WTSC series for many seasons including last year.

I think everyone has said it but that was a fantastic effort @Chriswim and a very open and informative build up to this. You deserve everything and hopefully a trip to the WC is on the cards.

Rare mass swim start as well, was almost weird watching that on FB live, very wide start area though and some near the shore walked the first bit

Not when I drag myself around the Crewe 10k, next month, in about 42 minutes.

Humbled as usual with this support team

Body let me down a bit, not particularly close to the physical performance I thought (/know) I was capable of, BUT OH MY FLIPPING WORD WOW am I stoked with that result to come 2nd. Head saved me with some intelligent decisions and staving off a lot of demons to keep going in that run. Didn’t know others were suffering worse and I was making progress, only really found out result in the finishers tent.

It’s been a very rough week since Tuesday, but for now I’m gonna be proud of what we’ve done, enjoy a holiday, and I’ll give open details down the line for interest and advice.
I’m considering maybe my egos writing cheques my body can’t cash, and I’m just believing my own dreams, yet I’ll still be arrogant enough to say I think I had 9:01-9:10 in me on that course if I’d raced Tuesday.

Yep 5:30am, been awake since 3, and only went to bed around 12 after doing the graveyard support shift which was one of the best things I’ve done. Always wanted to.

Nope :face_without_mouth: this was going to be the one year we took a Kona slot to travel from Aus! Even better would be Nice 2024 to go from the UK, but things haven’t worked out. Too many other things going on to justify a 2-3 week trip back to Europe in 5-6 months

Truly appreciated the mass start, could watch him coming and not have to try dig out the top secret codes to access the hidden fuel tanks
