Do you need to?

Nope, but it’s a goal I’ve set myself & it’s the only time I will get the pool time to do it

I did it last year. Don’t make my mistakes :

  1. I don’t normally take any food or drink to the pool. Works ok for a 30 minute session but not so well for a session that lasts 3h20.

  2. if you start in the late afternoon it may go dark before you’ve finished & maybe you can’t see your watch for counting laps.

  3. make sure watch is fully charged or it might conk out on lap 99 :face_with_symbols_over_mouth:

All that said, I did kind of enjoy it. But not enough to go back there. No way

Have fun.

I made sure I had plenty of fluids, some sport drinks and a box of Haribos

Started off very comfy and didn’t really try and push it

Good luck Doka - in a few weeks I’m doing an event at Sea Lanes in Brighton which is 50 x 100m off 2:15.

Maybe if that goes well I could build up to 100 x 100 at some point.

Cheers all, came armed with tailwind :muscle:, it will be in the morning 1st thing as the pool starts warm in the morning & gets  in the afternoon. I’ll be steady away, did some dumy 100s yesturday & 1:40-1:42 feels about right.

Today is out, had a run , not sure how you do your runs in the heat & humidity @fruit_thief.

When he’s an adult, and certainly if he becomes a parent himself, he will retrospectively realise the effort you went you :+1: I do the same for my Son’s Basketball; again as it’s not chavball or Rugby it’s quite expensive and a lot of travel to somewhere they play it.

My wife and I joke that kids now are so fortunate to have parents who actually hug them and tell them they love them  (as opposed to previous generations who were more stoic).

A couple of years ago my mum apologised to me for not being supportive of my ambitions as a youth. She was happy enough and supportive when it was a hobby but she was a blocker as a profession. I have been over it for decades but surprised at the reflection.
