TCS London Marathon 2026

I was going out for a ride but had a feeling something special might happen so watched it live. I didnt expect that though.

Cooked a little bit, pace felt fine until it didn’t and cramping from Canary Wharf.

Rather than try to hussle through, when time targets weren’t on I took my foot my off the gas and just enjoyed the atmosphere instead. It really is a good race.

A colleague ran 2:43, she is rapid!

My run buddy ran 3h 03m, don’t think he’ll be over the moon with that as qualified with a 55-59 GFA sub 3 at Paris last year. Imagine was looking for another sub 3.

Even more amazing that 2 guys ran sub 2 if the conditions were quite hot

Well done for keeping going, it’s worth soaking up the atmosphere.

Tri club mate Ollie went 2.38 today. He’s super quick

Obviously the tactic is to finish quick before it gets too hot.

It was still quite cool until late morning and the wind was from the east, so would have been a net tail wind

PS. Don’t know who I owe a spoons whiskey to, but your welcome, PM when in that fine establishment. Or perhaps if we ever meet up I’ll shout you one :clinking_beer_mugs:

Just turned on the finish cam on the iPlayer to see a friend finish and they cut the feed!

She got her clubs spot, but was given an 11:35 start so had to run through the heat. Looking at 5:59

Finished now. 5:59:57

Is it me?

If so, there’s no need Fruity. Enjoy it yourself.

Haha yes looks like it may well be @APM , and look how @Jgav rewarded you for your clairvoyance. With a manky foot shot.

OK boss, about the whiskey - I don’t drink the stuff either (bad experience aged 18, can’t even look at it) - but if we ever meet in the flesh I will insist on buying you a malted beverage and please hold me to that

Well done getting around, that looks very sore.

I see Eilish had a grand day out…

I hid it and made it clear that it was feet. I like our community, dont want to be ostracised.

Aaron Ramsey ran the London marathon today in 3:00:30. How the hell did he stay fit long enough to train for that?

Absolutely fair enough & was just messing around

My hunch is that @APM doth protest a little too much anyway, and secretly kinda likes them

Looks sore (and manky, but that’s appropriate after 42km) hope it heals up quickly
