Wow, that’s even smaller than our Primary! Ours is usually between 80-90 kids iirc. Mixed cohorts, except Reception.
Yeah, 17 in their class which will be Yr 2 & Yr 3. The 17 includes my 2! Can’t see many team sports happening, sadly.
Pfft amateurs. I went to a primary school with 27 children between 4-11!! 2 classes … big and small!!
Then up to a ~900 person secondary school. Was quite a culture shift for me!!
Same.
2 teachers & when one of them was ill my mum was the relief teacher.
Wow, I went to a 3 form entry primary school (90 kids per year) and then into a 3/4 form secondary school. Can’t imagine mixing classes between years.
Quite a small secondary then? Mine was 7 classes per year iirc.
Split boys and girls, together would have been 6 or 7 form but yes relatively small. I’m now a governor of a 1300 pupil secondary, now that’s a different kettle of fish.
Getting a bit mumsnet for you @stenard?!
AIBU?
Pretty sure mine was bigger… They needed a helicopter for the school photo.
New home purchased and closed at the weekend… time to start setting up in the basement (the picture is just one-half of the basement). Have basically done nothing all year so will be happy to get a turbo permanently set up down here, and potentially a treadmill, although not sure if we have the height for it unfortunately. Having lived in apartments for ~15 years, it feels to actually have some space for the first time ever.
Sorry for the shit beer - Wanted to try the ‘premium’ Budweiser, and soon realised premium piss is still piss. If anything it was actually worse
Great space though!
Talking of shit beers. Mrs GB bought a couple whilst at Lidl the other day as they seemed to be potentially interesting. A grapefruit ipa for me and a coconut cream porter for herself. We had them last night.
2 X 400 odd ml cans (odd sizes).
About 50ml was consumed across the two. They were freakin rancid. The porter was absolutely disgusting! Mine wasn’t quite as bad, but I wasn’t going to just drink it for the sake of it.
Stick to the local craft ales I think!
looks like a typical Yank house - big basement/cellar/dungeon
Yep - it’s much smaller than most houses here, but definitely not complaining and certainly more than the 1 bedroom apartments I have been used to.
About 600sq ft in the basement of which the wife wants nothing to do with. Might even put a bed down there and save a few headaches
always remember my 1st trip to the US in late 70s when I stayed at the home of the US Sales Manager of the company I worked for at the time - couldn’t believe how big his basement area was and was told that’s pretty typical of US houses.
The spider’s caught a couple of flies
Some of the houses around here are utterly ridiculous. Like nothing I have ever seen before. All the NYC money men who moved out to live by the water or in the countryside.
But have any of them been designed by an imaginative architect?
Actually where we are (CT) most of them actually are pretty pleasant. Not like some of the build-a-mansions that are apparently more common in the south and probably cost about the same as our small 3 bed place.
Anyway back on to subject… why are weights still ridiculously expensive!! Wanted to get a few as I no longer have gym access in the building, but they are still 3+ x the normal amount (at least around here)
any 2nd hand websites where some meatheads are flogging some on?? do you have ebay in the US??
