Great work and a lovely looking position.

Its amazing - I dont get how any of you with good positions actually look where you are going? Or are the courses favourable enough you dont need to?

I was thinking exactly the same looking at that pic above!

@mw22 it looks that I am staring at the floor but I am looking up the road. I was shown how to wear the aero head so you get the helmet in the right place and still be able to sight. When I am off the bike in the pic it might make more sense.

Noob question - if you relax whilst riding - are your eyes looking down between your forearms then?

I ask as I’ve been getting really bad neck pain, I assume from craning my neck up to see.

Good question, if I relax then thinking about it my sight is lowered to where my hands are and the front of the wheel.

When I Zwift I train and race in the TT position, even relaxed longer rides on the turbo I will watch something on the iPad in the TT position and place the iPad where it forces me to look in the same space as I would on the road.

It seems my lack of attention to bike maintenance is finally catching up on me, my front chainring has seen better days and no longer available so no chance of a like for like swap.

It is an 130BCD SRAM 54T ring, with a bite out of it where the crank sits:

Does anyone know of something that might be compatible? I haven’t managed to turn up any 54T, there’s a 52T on wiggle which looks like it will fit. Might actually get to use the other end of the rear cassette!

(remember to keep total bill including shipping etc under 135 quid) but yes the Wiggle one should fit

Thanks. Had automatically dismissed EU websites, but might be worth a go.

We’ve ordered from xxcycle within the last month or so, they’re fine under the 135 price - and also generally really good for stock of this sort of thing!

I have a 54/44 TT Rotor Q rings in 130BCD I purchased it last week On TT for £30 but then went x1 so found a narrow wide 54 instead.

21:20 ish tonight on E2/10. Probably a 20:xx gone begging, ran a marathon Monday and could still feel it and lost 10-15w.

But a solid ride and enjoyed warmth and light winds for the first time this year :grinning:

Incredible. Next day delivery from France, quicker than most UK places. No duty to pay.

Went for the Teflon coated version in the end coz Teflon = better right?

Well you’ll be able to fry eggs on it without them sticking to it, if nothing else…

Used the TT bike tonight for the first time this year at the club 10. Strange night, didn’t feel that windy stood around but was a bit of a breeze when on the course.

Managed 24:14 for 300W AP, about 30 seconds off a PB which was actually slightly less watts but I think it was a better night. Although it didn’t actually feel like I was struggling breathing wise, strange.

A few easy gains if I want as I didn’t have the TT helmet, disc, shoe covers, calf socks etc. and the road surface seems to deteriorate every time I ride it.

Also the first time on the 165MM cranks, it felt noticeable but it was probably more because it’s the first time I’ve used that bike for so long, I can probably move the saddle up a little bit. But 50 miles is going to be uncomfortable on Sunday. Didn’t really affect my cadence though, that was still 84RPM.

Also put my mechanic on his final warning as the shifting was appalling!

Club TT fun tonight. Planning a sweetspot-ish effort but that went out the window when I lined up 2 mins behind a mate who I knew would HATE it if I caught him, and another guy started a min behind who’s slightly quicker and would LOVE it if he caught me…

Game on😀

Caught 2 minute man in the last mile, nice satisfying ‘Oh bollocks’ when I passed (and he also threw up over the road after the finish so was busting his gut), and held off minute man by 30 odd secs.

Happy days

That’s what club nights are for. Great result

Should add we all finished actual time within a few secs and had a good laugh about it once the puking, coughing and general breathing through the arse had passed…

Any of you use the spindata website? I’ve started taking a bit more notice as it might give me something to work towards, in terms of moving up categories. They’ve also just brought in 5 year bands for vets. Looks like a lot of development going on and bringing the sport into the 21st century.
