Sorry that just sucks.

I didn’t see any women get in from the UK either .

On the other hand I am pleased I failed, I had entered, but if I had got in, it certainly would have created some logistical complications, so happy days  and I can enter next year with more tickets

Getting on the wait list would be the worst of all worlds

I’m tempted to enter the WS100 raffle next year - not that I am getting desperate or anything. Also tempted to go and watch it …

I watched Ryan Clayton’s channel last night, he didn’t get in either.

I know what you mean - would be good to try and get a feel for the heat out there during the race - difficult to comprehend when it is currently 3 degrees outside and blowing a gale

Not a cheap trip though. Lake Tahoe is supposed to be lovely.

Made me chuckle as a headline, didn’t read the post though.

Plus an unstoppable desire to hold your hands above your head in a Y shape at the top of a hill. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

For anyone that used ViewRanger it looks like they’ve been taken over by/merged with Outdoor Active. Doubt it was making much moeny, so looking for longer term investment.

Whilst it’s a shame, as the free version of VR was really good (though i did buy some OS maps for various areas of interest), they do have to make some money, so i don’t begrudge them that.

I’ve juct downloaded OA and if you do it now, and sync it to your VR account (all your routes etc will sync across) then you can also have a ā€˜no strings attached’ 3 months free of their Pro+ service. To be fair the service is only €5 a month anyway, so pretty decent value.

Pro+ gives you full Harvey Maps, which i think is easily worht the €5! There’s a bunch of other stuff that’s specific to France/Swiss topographical standards etc as well, which would be good if you go to Europe in the mountains often.

I used the free version on OA to download NC110 and eventually got it into to my watch. Then promptly forgot to use it and got lost 4 times. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

This golden oldie popped up on my tv feed. I’m not a dog person but we liked watching this again.

Emails have just arrived for my priority entry to UTMB, I was looking at it again last night and the route and getting seriously worried :grimacing:

About 6000m of vert over 100k on the CCC

Hopefully I can get my medical certificate.

Has anyone done the CCC? How long did it take, I’m thinking 20 hours!

Haven’t run CCC before but have done UTMB a few times which follows 90% of the route

Recce’d the first part of the CCC course with a mate who was doing CCC up to the Tete de la Tronche

Key tip is to get as far to the front of the start group as you can even if it means a long wait in the queue - the path to the top of the Tete de la Tronche is very narrow and tends to become a long conga like queue going at the pace of the slowest - which is good as long as you are near the front as it stops you going too quick

Difficult to say what your time should be as different for everyone - doing UTMB the second part of the course took me circa 23 hrs (same route as CCC except for the climb to Tete de la Tronche)
