Trail & Ultra Running Thread

Absolutely, which is why I’m bowing out. I respect you have a different viewpoint. No problem with that :+1:

I’m more than aware of what other races use. That type is great but it means nothing if people don’t collect them afterwards, especially the plastic stripey ribbon. Your race sounds like it does the right thing, sadly that isn’t always the case, judging by the faded ribbon I collect on my trail runs.

It’s sadly made our local paper a couple of times and given the popularity of the area, it’s not always apparent which race is responsible. Having the name on like yours have is great.

Just putting this here for @TriCurious or anyone else that might need it at 9am

Thanks @awildt managed to snag an entry :grinning:

First attempt at an ultra so will have lots of questions on this thread :slightly_smiling_face:

Quartermaster duties for tomorrow. It’s less about what I actually need for tomorrow but setting a nutrition baseline for the season.

Will supplement at aid stations but this is half needed and half back up. Might put a bagel in tomorrow

Bloody hell, who thought having a race on a Monday is a good idea? I can’t stand racing on a Sunday as it is

I walked yesterday and today I’m just mooching around, bored AF and just want it to be tomorrow. It’s also started raining :+1: :see_no_evil:

Which race are you doing @FatPom

The 50km (actually 51 I think)

There is a timing link here but we haven’t had numbers, so not sure how ‘live’ it will be.

Thanks all. Just want to get round but we’ll see how things play out. Been pretty wet today but the trails are so hard, I doubt they will be very slippery tomorrow.

Aid stations are 12km, 24km, 35km and 43km. Tempting to skip 1 & 3 but I’ll see. Taking a zip bag and the plan will be to fill bottles, load bag with aid station goodies and keep moving and pick from the bag.

I’m hoping the route is good as having a linked up 50km that goes within 200mtrs of the house will be a great training route to have up my sleeve.
