Iām not sure they have anything like that. From I can gather itās all real food, tea/coffee (possibly Coke) and water. I will dig a bit deeper though because if you donāt have a crew, they have these vans at a few crew points for the unsupported.
The volunteers at the aid stations are called Arc Angels and the ones in the vans are Flying Angels.
This is awesome - thanks for sharing - id love to give up my day job and become a photographer/runner . need to look at this route in detail for future adventures
Tomorrow at 08:00 the UTMB ptl event starts, 300km and 25000m vert to cover in 7 days. Thats averaging 43km and 3571m vert per day in the mountains, with everything the terrain has to offer, sleeping in huts or a bivvy. What an event
I would love to train for this event. Said this to my family earlier. They laughed at me and said I get lost trying to find my way out of a car park. They are right of course, my orientation skills leave much to be desired!!
In other news, the Transalpine Run starts in two weeks. This is another event Iād like to train for https://transalpine-run.com/en/
Just read this morning that Shane Ohly has set a new Lake District Classic Rock record.
Doing this round in under 10 hrs and beating Tom Randallās previous record of 11hrs 10mins is mind blowing (Itās also bloody dangerous). Originally the challenge was to complete the route in under 24hrs!!
For those who donāt know what Iām talking about, hereās an old article about it. https://mountainrun.co.uk/news/lakes-classic-rock-challenge
