I avoided it because he milked that to death last year.
Itās surprisingly good
How are people getting on with getting money back for Ourea events? The entry costs donāt strike me as something easily written off by customers
I got mine back via a Section 75 credit card claim. I have since been contacted by the administrators and have registered a claim with them, but that will take a while and am not guaranteed anything and anything I do get will have to be paid back to the credit card.
So a full refund S75 plus extra from the administrators?
Think I asked this before Doug, but you definitely did via the S75 process, rather than the chargeback process? They are two different things. Chargebacks can be reversed.
As far as Iām aware it is S75, thatās what I said I to them on the phone. The letter I got from them said they may cancel the credit if I get refunded by Ourea, so who knows?
I did a bit of digging, a S75 can be reversed but itās less common than it is on a chargeback.
I wonder who the refund back to the card would be coming from? Assuming Ourea have no assets, especially as Shane Ohly transferred the assets they did have to āOurea Holdingā.
The S75 funds would presumably come form credit companyās own liability funds?
The transactions were outside the chargeback window so I assume it could only be S75.
I havenāt caught up with the Centurion podcast Doug, but any feedback from the Sea to Sea āeventā they cobbled together?
There was another one called Community Traverse I think?
They both had crap weather on the first 2 days - strong winds and heavy rain/hail. A fair few made it through to the finish though, sounds like quite a community spirit, with some ad-hoc aid stations set up in various places, including bothies and peoples houses.
Good to know. I wonder if heāll try and convert it into something more? He probably has his hands full with the Winter 100/200 in Dec to then turn around and organise this.
He said it was a one off, but he expects someone else to pick it up.
For an event the chargeback window is determined by the event date, not the payment date - hope this helps someone
In case anyone is at a loose end on Saturday
Have a grand day out !
