Trail & Ultra Running Thread

I’ve heard David’s name mentioned in loads of podcasts. This is very sad :sad_but_relieved_face:

Gosh - very young - how sad

I heard that a runner also died at Marathon des Sables this year

Looks like @doug is having a good morning, nearly 8 hours in and he’s at about 32 miles. I can confirm that it’s been a wet morning in South Wales with cloud over the hill tops so don’t think he’ll have had much to look at!

Doing a bit of early morning fishing in Clarach Brook (well that’s the little story my brain tells me. lol) Since I typed that he has moved on and nowhere near the brook.

Do they swap out the batteries at certain check points or does it last the whole event, the 66% made me think about that. (I can only imagine the Garmin body battery after 75 miles)

Usually use the same one on the Spine so assume the same here also

Well done @doug - keep it up

That makes sense on the estimated time left.

Thanks, at cp3 having a second breakfast, no major issues to report, slowing down a bit but still moving. Next stretch includes Pen y Fan

@doug closing in on the 100 mile mark, Brecon town centre in about 12 miles, think I’d be phoning ahead and booking a B&B for the night.

Finding it difficult to comprehend what Doug and the others are doing. Keep at it, we’re watching you.

Would be good to get Pen y Fan out of the way before dark and looks like he is bang on for that

I’ve got 7 mates on the start line of the Devon coast to coast today. Super excited for some dot watching but also very very jealous and feeling a bit sorry for myself as I was supposed to be there.
