I was going to use the UK Backyard as an excuse to abstain but now @sparky has said he’s in, I’m screwed.
Did we ever settle this? Is there going to be a TT smackdown in 2024?
I’m.just eyeing up 70.3 Swansea
- 14th July 2024
- £340 + 10% rip off fee
- if enter before 28th November (9 days time) then get flex 90 thing, which I think means can transfer to any other 70.3 if plans change, or if sharks are spotted in the Bristol Channel.
Not for that money!
For a half?
It’s a real shame as I’d really like to do Swansea. That’s where I went to uni and spent 4 good years there. But those prices are nuts.
I was thinking the other day about a rumble in the M50 jungle as it’ll be 5 years since @Matthew_Spooner & @Jorgan enjoyed a fun day out in Hamburg actually they probably did enjoy it!
But, with our advancing age a full is deffo out for me next year and maybe I should be thinking more of a sprint distance.
There’s the Challenge race down that way but it’s probably as awkward to get to as a euro race for some of us. I’m also entered into the race in Holland in June.
If Wales is on your list, I have this one pencilled in for next year.

Nice little climb with a special KOM prize, so Cotswold 113 it ain’t
That looks great actually. Need to sort out my dates back to UK asap
That event is not run under a BTF permit - DBMax won’t come into the fold - so if you have BTF membership, you are not covered under it’s race insurance if you take part. Check with the organisers what insurances they have in place to cover you.
Interesting. I’m not currently a BTF member anyway. I’ve done a fair few DBMax events, always well organised.
And they are running a qualifier for the draft legal duathlon next year, surely that event is under BTF?
yes - that will be. maybe they’re coming into the fold at last!
I’ve did Titan a few years ago, good event. The run had a nasty sting in the tail (flat around the lake and then a hilly dog leg). I got comedic cramp on the downhill, much to my supporters amusement!
