TT Smackdown 2025

Did you see that on Strava, too?
He thinks he can hide…

Yeah, and your comment :joy:

He’ll be going private next :flushed:

He’s going to crush everyone like a grape

What the what now?!

I just did a 1hr zone 2 on the turbo. Did one harder lap on the volcano as I was getting bored. And I’ve not swam 3 times this week, that’s 3 times in the last year! :joy:

And now you know

If it makes you feel any better, I’d be looking for only 205-215W. And on race day without tractors, assuming it’s closed roads, the smoother output is easier to maintain.

Damn it.
I’m agreeing with you :kissing_heart:

This is why we do these boring ass rides at a constant power for a few hours.

But, when finished and we see the average speed
That makes it worthwhile.

Just bring it on race day. Let the smack down commence. That’s all that matters.

Until you thoroughly crush allcomers and they start moaning about their age, training focus, blah blah blah.

:joy:

I’m just being a twat. The way I’m currently going I’ll end up with 3 punctures on race day. I’m a flint magnet at the mo.

Get the punctures out of the way now, best way, that’s why I deliberately rode over a Ford Transit suspension arm on Wednesday.

I’m still 50/50 if I’ll make the start

You want to check out fruity’s little jog at sub 90 pace and peeps parkrun, the big guns are starting to beat their chests like the silverback gorilla :gorilla:

I hope you lot don’t play poker :joy:

The Fletchmeister will be along soon to strike fear into our hearts with a 100km cliff path run at 3m30/km, at night, blindfold, and titled “gentle evening run for bants”.

I’ve not actually entered this one yet :joy:
Gonna see how Staffs plays out first. :airplane: :desert:

Yeah - I’m not into getting beat by Dr Foster  or Wreck-It Ralph :facepunch:t3:

Quality nicknames, and a fearsome double act.

Looks like a decent surface that.
Was that just cars?

This happened on the loop I use for testing and TT bike rides;

I still use the loop but now give a nod to the white bike on the hill at Terra Nova

Yup. I stopped doing TTs on the A50 DC as I was marshalling when someone died on there.
A lad from Man Tri died in The Peaks a few months back, too. My regular roads. He was my age and running level, had a few good XC races with him over the winter - he always had LOADS of support and people cheering his name, so I said hi to him during a race and we just got chatty at races. Did the last one at Heaton Park, chatted to him, commented on his Strava, next weekend he’d died.

Then when I was in Derby, used to work and (try to!) train with a 2:35 marathon runner. He was my age. We always used to run commute the same way to work, down “Bateman Street” which was about 200m long. This was when Strava was in its infancy. We used to have KOM challenges nearly daily down there.
He passed away in his sleep overnight, due to a heart issue. He was 34. Wife and new child.

This exercise stuff is dangerous.
