Would have loved to have measured your blood glucose before and after ![]()
It was like an out of body experience as I entered the petrol station. I knew my choices were awful, but my subconscious was overriding everything

Fish and chips, at the Spoons of Wether. So a “free” Elvis Juice with it which goes very well actually.
I love f&c so I’m wondering about a more cost efficient version at home (probably healthier too in the air fryer)
So Tesco do battered cod at £3.39 for 500g half that for a meal that’s £1.68.5p
What kind of potato for air fryer chips? I think Hello Fresh send “white” potatoes but should it still be Maris Pipers in an air fryer? Those are £0.90/kg - pretty sure I can’t eat a kg of chips so…so recover and fuel the next workout…300g or 30p?
The peas is easy £1.21/kg so call it 40p
The “free” 660ml of Elvis juice however is £3.20 and quite strong so if I half that to one can is a more reasonable £1.60
So; £1.60, £0.40, £0.30, £1.67 …that’s £3.97
plus the hidden cost of air fryer running
So I guess the question is is it worth the extra £5.13 to have a reason to leave the house? ![]()
And, do I have something better to think about when Im on annual leave?
The peas is easy peasy
Unfortunately the wife had F&C when I was at Download Festival two years ago.
She was at home. She got food poisoning (that will teach her for having fish and chips without me) and now we dont have F&C together.
Ironic that I was at Download eating half raw sausages because my stove was sh1t. I joke but if you are going to get food poisoning its more likely from the raw chicken and noodle bar.
I sometimes sneak to the chipshop once a month or every other month at dinner (work) time.
I love that feeling - almost live for it
Soreen cookies and cream flavour, AKA scream, Halloween edition
In my latest trip to Lidl we found Humitas
Called Tamales in Mexico
Its basically choclo (sweetcorn but not quite as sweet, although these are a bit sweeter than usual), mashed up with some onion, pimenton, and basil, and put into a block within the husks (leaves) and baked. Yes they aren’t like you get at a roadside cafe in Pucon but good enough when its been 3 years since you last had them
These are a little dry, usually that happens when the choclo is too ripe, but with some pebre (a chilean tomato salsa) or ensalada chilena (more tomatoes) , they moisten up a bit.
As someone who has been “addicted” to chillies for over 40 years, why have I only recently discovered Lao Gan Ma. My dog that stuff is addictive!!
