Watcha Listening To?

Been listening/watching some of the Metallica tv lately. This is great, the scale of this is huge!

I also hadn’t realised they did a version 2 of S&M.

I mostly listen to Radiohead and when I’m not listening to them I listen to people talking about them which sometimes is more entertaining.

I’m not listening to this unless you pay me … however, surprised to learn that old trout lips had a more extensive musical output than I’d realised.

Through these fields of destruction
Baptisms of fire
I’ve witnessed your suffering
As the battle raged high
And though they did hurt me so bad
In the fear and alarm
You did not desert me
My brothers in arms

Love that song. Not the biggest fan of the album but that last track is a beauty. :ok_hand:

a nice bit of Dire Straits from the 80s

Just relaxing with the fire on and a nice cold drink so put this recommendation on (Ludovicio Einaudi - tiny desk concert).

This stuff is right up my street when I’m “working” and reminds me a bit of the Solo Piano albums by Chilly Gonzales.

Thank you for telling me about him.

He’s great :+1:

Yeah I like him for working. Its easy to enjoy without being distracted by it.

I also like film sound tracks for that. Particularly Hans Zimmer, Lisa Gerrard & Pieter Bourke stuff

Tiny Desk are amazing, there’s so much variety, groups I would never have come across otherwise.

Some don’t last more than 15s (mostly what @Poet likes ) but I’ve bought a lot of music that I came across over the 18 months since I discovered them when looking to find more music by Penguin Cafe (themselves a fairly obscure minimalist classical / folk group).

  • Andrew Bird … think I have 5 albums now
  • Deep Sea Diver
  • Sharon van Etten
  • The Lumineers
  • Mustn’t forget Einaudi himself (7 Days Walking is on my Christmas pressie list if I’m a good boy)
  • Idles

Probably others too and more to come.

Fred Again was class.
Sampha was awesome.

Although, I’ve just watched TOTP 1995.

Maryka was appalled by Robson and Jerome “these guys were on when I went out, and then again when I came back”

Then Wings came on… almost turned off

Was that Paul McCartney and Mull of Kintyre?

I was looking at this when that was on :flushed:
Literally the same house.

Turned it over on The Carvells.

Yes, Paul McCartney was in Wings… I thought I knew nothing about music, (as Maryka was lecturing me about Bell Biv Devoe - who?), but even I knew that!

And erm, why is everyone moving to Scotland?

Housing market is still insanely slow as far as I can see, anything on the market is going to be a hole or way over-priced, as anything good goes quick.

The first song I learnt to play on the guitar, mainly because it was so slow and dull.

Never liked Wings much but could listen to them more than I could listen to The Beatles :hear_no_evil:
