Watcha watchin'?

There’s a remake in the works by Edgar Wright.

I didn’t know it’s based on a Stephen King book.

Written as Richard Bachman.
It’s a far cry from the Arnie movie.

Not sure they’ll be able to use the original ending…

Finished Griselda this morning after the cat woke me up at 5:45. Not sure if it’s suitable TV for a Sunday morning!

I really enjoyed it. MrsF gave up after two or three episodes but I continued with it.

We’re halfway through One Day, the Netflix series. Mrs W’s choice but enjoying it so far. Anyone on the Over 50’s thread will enjoy the soundtrack music. Feels very much like the itv series, Cold Feet.

Inside Job on Prime, kind of a documentary version of the Big Short with Matt Damon narrating, no surprise that the banks, agencies and governments are getting a bit of a kicking.

Basically greed on a mass scale.

Always like watching this Polanski film. Depp playing it straight in a quirky neo noir spooky film. It’s got a really nice old school feel to it, kinda bit Hitchcockian

watched Gran Turismo on the plane back from
Oman. Not a bad film but I didn’t know the story - quite amazing to go from a GT video game player to a Le Mans 24 podium in a couple of years,

Eh?
That’s the soundtrack to my youth, too!!!

Also, last two episodes ruin it.
Far too rushed.
So much to explore, but it’s all just left :person_shrugging:t3:

BBC1 The Way
What. The. Eff. Was that utter tosh?
Socialist propaganda at its finest.
Part afternoon play, part turd :poop:

Any idea if you can get a limited trial/free trial with Apple TV? And, stupid question, but i’m assuming it’s not linked to those Apple TV players or anything? You can just get an app on the old smart telly?

Just saw an ad for the new Dick Turpin comedy. Looks like a bunch of the old Mighty Boosh peeps, led by Noel Fielding. Loved the Boosh back in the day, so this could be right up my strasse.

You can get it on a web browser or iPad. Usually do at least a 30 day trial. I got 90 with my new phone.

If you do get it check out slow horses as well.

Edit: I think some smart tv’s might have it but don’t quote me on that.

Apple TV appears as an app on our smart TV. You can get to the home page for it, but you need a subscription login to make anything play. I think there is an option for a limited free trial, I think

I assume you mean “The Way” on BBC1? :man_shrugging:

We watched the first episode but I doubt we’ll bother with the rest

I had a 3 month trial with Apple. Think it was just then offering it up to new users.

I got a new Samsung tv for Xmas and got 3months free trial of Apple TV with it. You can get 1 to 3 months free with new apple phones/tablets etc, sometimes bundled with apple one, which is tv/music/gaming.
Also you can set up the app without subscribing, and sometimes they let you see one sample episode without subs.

Saw a trailer for that - piqued my interest… made me think of that 1975 show Survivors (not the shit remake)

Is it no good then?…

Just enjoying a bit of margin call- love this film. Jeremy irons utterly reptilian. Can watch this over and over again - I don’t know explicitly why?

I’ve never fully understood the symbolism of Sam’s dog.
