OK, the conversation has moved on and we need another thread, this could unearth some gold, or not! I don’t even know where do start, so I’ll go with this, because I love it:
I like covers that go in a completely different direction to the original, this is one I keep coming back to.
Suspected everyone would go Johnny Cash/Hurt.
It’s a great cover.
Wow, you learn something every day, never had a clue this was a cover.
Didn’t I do this on the other one Ruby, by the Wurzels?
but no, Go West Pet Shop Boys of course.
Funkster has taken your challenge and immediately destroyed it with something that can never be beaten. He has won.
But let’s accept that Cash covering NiN is a singularity and does not agree with the General theory of relativity. There is no grand unified theory that can agree on this entry. It doesn’t need gravity, it’s attraction is infinite.
So instead we should submit entries for the 2nd best.
My two are:
Cats in the cradle - Ugly Kid Joe
Whiskey in the Jar - Metallica
Kings of Leon covered Dancin on my Own.
They did it on Radio 1’s Live Lounge
Feeling good by Muse
Thunderstruck by 2 cellos
They’re probs my two favourites.
Presently?
Gordi covers Linkin Park “ In The End “
