Street Spirit (Fade Out), Radiohead; Black Milk, Massive Attack; Roads, Portishead. That type of thing, all very dismal .

Apparently, these are my Top 5 “Lifetime” songs on Spotify (which I’ve had for about 8-9 years now)

And the past month

I literally know none of those songs

That’s a list of songs and artists I’ve never heard before with the exception of Flight of the Concords.

As Ultravox once said - this means nothing to me

For some reason I read the title today as your favourite snog.

Now that would be a story…

ooo - a new thread then - could be some interesting tales…but might need to go into the Blackpool Lounge… :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

I swapped tongues with my dog once. Completely accidental (m’lud) and not enjoyable at all. Even she (thankfully she) looked disgusted.

I guess that’s not the kind of story you meant?

Just gone through your “lifetime” list. Not my kind of stuff but some serious bass there! Gave the ProAc’s a workout.

Great album … I would have linked ‘Thank God it’s not Christmas’ personally but love this song too

Tough choice …

In contention:
More or less any song from the first 2 Portishead albums
17 Seconds or A Forest - The Cure
Solo Piano - Philip Glass

Was listening to this yesterday, so many great memories:

But this song is the one I always come back to, I particularly love this live version:

Quite liking this at the moment. Written in 1692, this is a 2020 cover. Anyone beat 328 years?

Don’t know why.

Here’s my Top 95 Lifetime songs (I’ve removed Hayley Williams’ Simmer duplicates, before she released the album, and kept the acoustic. Plus I took a pill in Ibiza had the same issue)

Here’s my Top 100 from the past month :see_no_evil:

My taste is very modern, it’s rare I’ll listen to stuff older than 5 years with any regularity (Mike Posner excepted), and MOBO-centric.

Thinking again about that Henry Purcell song.

Written in 1692, 800K views on YouTube in 2021.

How many songs written this year will have that sort of audience in year 2350?

Music for a while
Shall all your cares beguile.

Wond’ring how your pains were eas’d
And disdaining to be pleas’d
Till Alecto free the dead
From their eternal bands,

Till the snakes drop from her head,
And the whip from out her hands.

Music for a while
Shall all your cares beguile.

Reckon that dude would definitely be into metal if he was around in the late 20th C
