PB’s at 5k, 10k and HM or MAF training can f*king do one!
Learn to swim! :joy: struggling to break the 2.00/100 mark. As the last person who saw me swim remarked, ā€œHave you considered Duathonsā€ :man_facepalming:
Sub 6 For my first Half IM, ( secretly hope sub 5.30)

Struggling massively with motivation thinking the races will be cancelled anyway…

But - 2021 target for me is getting through the Yorkshire Beast bike ride and get to the starting line of the Extreme X. Completing it would be f’ing amazing.

Celtman again, if it goes ahead. I can’t believe my own stupidity - I guess I just figured why not as I’ll never get an entry in the ballot anyway. Oh well I’ll enjoy it once on the bike and defrosted after the swim

If I get a decently paid contract and travel gets back to something approaching normal, either Raid Alpine (N-S) or the Marmot Tours Dolomite Cols trip (Maratona, Stelvio both ways and other stuff).

If not (and I’m thinking this is more likely), either:

  1. Second trip round Wales on the bike, 6 days 600 miles. 90% planned and from my front door makes this the sensible choice for the 2 or 3 weeks in 2021 when Wales isn’t locked down
  2. NC500, with side trip to Cape Wrath. Not planned apart from discussion on the thread on this forum, probably need to carry more kit which also makes the trip round Wales more likely

I’d add ā€˜go swimming a bit’ but that’s too much of a stretch target

F**k it.
Changed my mind…kids gotta have goals;

5km 17:20 (17:59 in 2019)
10km 35:58 (36:34 in 2019)
HM 1:19:31 (1:20:41 in 2019)

Sub 2hr 50TT

Doubtful on the first three, as I’ll need a proper race to do them at.
The TT looks like it’ll go ahead, so that should be okay :+1:t3::man_dancing:t3::tada:

Gonna do my goals quarterly this year instead of over-facing myself like I do every year and being too boom&bust. Currently fat, injured and ill in bed with tonsils like basketballs.

Leg strength is good, doing 100kg squats for the first time ever.

By April 1st
<21:00 5km
<45:00 10km
280w FTP
<84kg

That should set me up nicely for a good lead into summer.

What 50TT is it?

Not sure yet, although the choice appears to be the J4/16

Not sure I’ll get into the Nat Champs
But that’s my preferred date :sob::face_with_symbols_over_mouth:

Get yourself to the one at Keswick if it’s on, fast course and less traffic than you think if you ask for an early start.

Cheating though that :speak_no_evil:
Like those who go to Roth, Austria, Barcelona, Florida etc to draft their way to a sub-10.

ā€œI saw lots of drafting, but I didn’t do any and shouted at themā€

Yeah. Sure you did :speak_no_evil::stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
Your 70.3 time was barely under 5hrs

Best do your PBs in some God forsaken place, littered with potholes and tractors.

I may jump on the May 15th one. Would be nice to get a PB 3 weeks before UK Ultimate 1/2.
I’ve gone 2:11 before on there.

Bolton then.

Get well soon !

Sub-10 at Bolton just about gets you the win, doesn’t it :scream::scream::scream:

Well race ranking is the only actual comparative measure, sub-anything is just a personal goal so it doesn’t matter where you do it.

That depends on your personal aspiration.

I’m not sure what you mean?

Times matter only if you aspire to them, some people prefer courses where the challenging course or environment precludes fast times for their palates.
