Haven’t checked my weight during a month off, but Zwift still says 68 so let’s go with that :pig2: :cake:

December tomorrow and back to it :green_salad:

67.1, a bit better - a chat…now c’mon Clive, why do you buy a huge chocolate cake from Tesco when there’s not a huge family bar self to devour, why do you sniff around the COOP for their 60p reduced cherry lattice pie… for pleasure, that’s why. OK, but moderation, eh pal!
OK, end of chat.

What I hate about getting older is in the past I would reach an equilibrium, where I wouldn’t get any fatter. But now, there is no limit to how much weight I can put on.

If the trend repeats I’ll be racing at 88kg for most of 2022.

86.18kg for me today, so marginally lower than a couple of weeks ago, slow but at least going in the right direction

Let me phrase that a bit better

Does anyone have concern about weight dropping too low in late 40s or beyond? Specifically muscle/ lean mass.

If so what are you doing about it?

I have a bad feeling it might be time to start lifting weights which just strikes me as the dullest thing ever

I will weigh tomorrow but with 3 days in Newport and the Xmas party, it won’t be pretty!

I’ve read a lot that weight lifting is highly beneficial as you age. Increase in bone density to ward off bone problems. Maintaining muscle, mobility, brain function, reduction in overall morbidity.

Is all round jolly good stuff from the research I’ve seen.

I personally really enjoy weight lifting.

A good programme to get started is the 5x5 myself and @joex do. It’s simple, doesn’t take forever, don’t need massive amounts of kit.

Top coach by us… has all his athletes lifting weights, especially the oldies.

Coaches argue about the colour of the sky at times, but they all endorse strength work, must be something in that…?!

First time I have hit 74 since about January this year - was trying to keep under this mark until Christmas

Did some weights sessions this week - muscle weighs more than fat - right ?? :joy:
