2022 races

Nice work peeps!

Localish 5 mile road race, notoriously quick (Beth Potter won the last live race, which included a 14:55 5k in the middle of it).

Laced up the super shoes, and got round in 33:45.

Not sure how I would get on, but felt fairly strong and possibly could have got closer to 33 if I had buried myself.

Limited IT band and Covid issues, too!

There was a classic thread on 1.0 about the Alsager 5. It wasnt cancelled one year despite heavy snow, some numpT still went but chose not to race and was demanding a refund or something via TriTalk.

I remember that.

Nice work :clap:t3:
That’s a place I cycle around a fair bit.
Never been to the actual place.

Season opening half marathon for me Sunday, a hilly b&gger in West Yorkshire.

This will be my first pure runny race since 2019. Anything could happen - although most likely is a modest and disappointing time after a lot of suffering  .

Liversedge HM?

Yep!

I did that a few years ago but the course might have changed since? Vaguely recall it going under the M62 and a steep descent that you had to go back up when you were nackered at the end :joy:

I will see you there.

First TT smackdown of the year?

I did it back in 2016 ish, and it’s the same course. So yes, lunatic descent under M62, turn left and fairly flat for a bit, then back up. But there’s a horrible draggy bit after that which is even worse IIRC.

Fun race, I’m no. 422. Should stick out - Ipswich Tri (red/black) kit, don’t think they’ll be many of us

I am 234, little fella that looks a little too heavy to be running a hilly HM

Great day out, target was 6:30 but pleased with the time of just over 7. Good thing about ultras (for me) is that it’s more about day out than times. Longest run I’ve ever done thanks to a few navigational errors! Some parts were really exposed and I was being stubborn and didn’t put on my jacket so got pretty cold. I need to look on strava but I faded with about 20k to go. 1k to go painful hobble to the line. I’d recommend the punk panther events, local team putting on great events every month with top support.
