2022 Weigh-in Thread

We finish eating by 7pm.
It’s then sofa time, or a Sudoku, with a tube of Pringles or some Pipers etc.

ANYWAYS…post morning ablutions and 4km jog and I’m down 900g :rofl::see_no_evil:
That’s what’s going on Zwift :+1:t3:

Also, GB, you’re only 6-7hrs per week?
I thought I’d had some crap weeks at 7hrs.
I’ve been averaging 9.5hrs and my Training Peaks numbers are static :see_no_evil::rofl:

86.6 for me this morning. I seem to be bouncing between that and 86.0 all the time lately.

On the eating front, except on Fridays when LO comes home a bit later from swimming, we have always finished dinner by 6 - 6.30. I only eat dinner, so it’s usually 6.00 for me but Mrs FP and LO sometimes have some fruit and yoghurt after.

We’ve always eaten early. When I was training a lot or when I was recovering from surgery, I got into the habit of getting off my feet early, so I would lie on the bed after dinner.

I still do that now. We all head upstairs about 7pm, I will do some reading sometimes with LO or Mrs FP will do some maths or Korean with her. Then she has her shower and will go to sleep about 9.00.

I stay upstairs whilst all this is going on because I don’t really enjoy being downstairs whilst they are upstairs. I like being in the same part of the house where they are and I’ll watch something on the Macbook. I really enjoy that time, much more than being downstairs on my own.

Now, the point of this ramble is that it has the added of bonus of being physically disconnected from the kitchen. When I go up, I clean my teeth at about 7.30 and that puts me off eating any snacks. I just don’t go downstairs again.

Mrs FP will ask if I want a tea or coffee after 9.00 as she has one. Sometimes I do and and then clean my teeth again but mostly I don’t (pertly because I end up going to the loo in the night a lot).

I get a lot wrong with my eating and I’m not as good at avoiding snacks as I should be but i do have good discipline at night and it’s mainly because of our routine.

Nightime tv and snacks would be a disaster for me. I know this because when we go to Mum’s, I don’t do this. I watch tv late at night downstairs and I’m always hitting the fridge and that’s fine, as long as we don’t visit too often. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

I don’t eat in the morning before at least 10.00 and very often 12.00. I try to do 18:6 and I will stretch that. I relax it a bit on the weekend but Mon-Fri, I find it the easiest of all the lifestyle disciplines to keep. I’m terrible with carbs though, especially mindless grazing.

Come on, everyone (here) knows loosing weight is 80-90% diet. Or are you trolling?

Are you with that loose spelling?
I expect that from Karen on Facebook, but not a travelled man such as yourself :man_teacher:t4: :world_map:

I don’t know what you’re getting at?
Have a poo and a jog and you’ll lose 900g?
It was only a 400g loss, as I was 500g down anyhow.

I don’t want to get into an argument (not aimed at you!) about CICO/Noakes, but…

…I’ve found cutting out cooking meat has led to a natural reduction in calorie intake. Mainly via the loss of potatoes, rich sauces and fats. Meals are now legume/bean/pea based, with two/three portions of fish per week (sea bass, cod, haddock, salmon, prawns are the staples here)
Cutting out the evening snacks has saved ~400cals.
Plus reduction in beer ~200cals.
And there’s the 1lb per week weight loss.
(500cal per day deficit = 1lb per week)

(But, like I said, I know that isn’t science fact, Ymmv etc, but it works for me)

Maybe I’ve misinterpreted. I was thinking your ‘static numbers’ meaning numbers on the scales not moving, maybe you meant training time? I have now just realised your post above about loosing 0.5kg, I’m hungover is my excuse on that.

My spelling is normally fairly loose, but see reasoning above.

Numbers = Training Peaks Famous Three :+1:t3:

@gingerbongo mentioned his going up y’day. But based on 6-7 hours I’m confused :face_with_head_bandage::man_shrugging:t4:
I’m doing 9.5hrs/wk and they’re not going anywhere :sob:
Maybe ‘cos my training is :fist:t3::eggplant::sweat_drops:

You can’t triathlon from a bad diet

Because it’s calculated on a rolling 42 day period (I think). My last 42 days were  :eye: T with hardly anything. So i’d guess i have another 2 weeks and then it’ll completely plateau (assuming i keep up with what i’m currently doing). I’ll wait until April to start knowingly pushing that up for a 3 month block i.e. trying to get out 2 times in a day etc.

Says who?

I’ve ran a 1:20:41 half marathon, 4:27 half Ironman, 36:30 10km, 2nd overall at a sprint tri and a sub11 Ironman :man_shrugging:t4:

All of those were built on a diet of crisps, chocolate and craft ale.

And you’re still as unhealthy as you were before :+1:

Athleticism doesn’t make up for malnutrition does it?

I can also triathlon on a poor diet.

Crisps, cake, fizzy drinks, beer, chocolate you name it, I love it :yum:

I quit fizzy pop and Haribo. But only after I’d lost four teeth :see_no_evil::rofl:

These two real teeth just disintegrated in my mouth as I was chowing down on some Millions sweets one afternoon.

I thought “ooh, there a bit hard” spat it out and all of my tooth was in my hand :see_no_evil:
