Looking at Mallorca 70.3 2027,anyone recommend which area to look at for self-catering accommodation at least 1 bedroom walking distance to start etc

Appreciate all the best places probably pre booked

Not walking distance as such (unless you want a 10km walk) but we just got back from Hotel Eolo in Port de Pollensa ,top right corner of the bike course. It was basic and good for bikes. Easily ridable to the start I’d have thought.

Also did pretty much that ride one day, didn’t realise it was the 70.3 course. Cheeky climb up to Lluc, but a stunning descent.

Bad timing by me, it’s the Cotswold 113 this weekend and as it happens we’re nearby just outside Bristol but only booked it last week, not sure the shoulder would have fancied the swim either, although it looks likely that wetsuits will be permitted this year!

I did the first Deva Aquathlon of the year on Monday evening.

I’ve done them before a few years ago when it was a 750m swim & 5km run, but as of this year the swim is 500m because of some BT ruling or other…I wasn’t complaining .

Format is rolling start off a pontoon, one loop of 250m - the first part upstream - back over the pontoon for an Aussie exit & repeat. The run is pretty flat & surface is pretty good, well packed gravel.

I let half a dozen or so go before diving in & was only aware of passing one person during the swim which was uneventful.

I was completely alone in transition, all the fast swimmers had been & gone.

On to the run & it took several minutes before I spotted any of the leaders & eventually managed to start picking them off before finishing 2nd.

Happy with that, had an enjoyable night & blew some cobwebs off

While I’m ridiculing myself I can’t remember if I shared this after a chilly Swimrun at Tal-y-Llyn last year.

@Chriswim have you seen the bike course for Slateman has changed? Due to roadworks.

Yeah looks like we’re getting some more value for money. More distance and more hills!

Looks a bit nadgery though, still going to go TT bike, but makes it less persuasive. Realistically for the run, I’ll be walking the long uphill section on each lap, I can’t see myself running up especially the first lap and not risking blowing up at some point. At least the weather doesn’t look too hot, so we shouldn’t melt. I’d think the black slate, 30 degree temps would make it rather attritional.

Which wave are you starting in? I’m off at 7.00, my race number is 74.

I’m doing the Leamington Spa Half Marathon tomorrow - my first half marathon in 15 years. I’m not expecting much. as I’m not sure my legs have fully recovered from the Wild Horse 200.
