Ha, really jumping the gun here but technically less than 16 months
If anyone has ideas of Boston then you need to factor in another 5 minutes!
I’ll leave the non-binary debate to the other thread please!

What about hexadecimal?
I think I could achieve the qualifying time if I focused only on it, but I have no real interest in doing it.
technically non binary
so I just have to say, “Im not telling you if Im a man” and i can get in with a female time. brilliant, just need a 3:50 not a 3:20 now
That’s spooky we were just talking about this. Boston is on my bucket list. 3:50 for me. However I think it’s the same as NY marathon which means I will have to run a lot faster than that to qualify.
Perhaps I should identify as a teapot and see if that works
I’m sure when I did it in 2022 it was only something like 3 minutes under, if that, but possibly because a lot of people hadn’t done a marathon for a couple of years and I’m sure you still had to either prove you’d been vaccinated and tested negative before entering.
With your run at the weekend I’d think you could easily get a QT?
When does the clock start on your age, is it on your qualifying race or something else? I’ll be 60 in April, reckon I could do a 3.50 with training but won’t be easy
For some reason I think it’s your age on the date of the qualifying race. Unlike triathlon.
Possibly check that though.
It’s the date of the race
The qualifying times below are based upon each athlete’s age on the date of the 2026 Boston Marathon (April 20, 2026).
Personally, I find that a bit weird. If you were a younger AG when you ran the time, then surely that’s the relevant “standard”
Yes, that’s strange, I think others are age on date of the qualifier.
True but I want to specifically identify as hexadecimal, not non something, as in NON binary (dont like being negative.)
Also I think pointing out hexadecimal is technically non-binary has highlighted it to @jeffb, the fact.
I was trying to find a loop hole or fly under the radar. Re:
Ignoring that why are the non binary times so much slower, brain mush, have a cold, its a crazy difference.
Back on topic, it seems running is going through a popular phase at the moment, and the number of people doing marathons seems to be increasing, so it is no suprise that these are the standards, still lower than GFA for London Marathon which is generally 10-15 minutes quicker unless you are a
Teapot comment not relevant as might not be acurate (not fact checked teapots)

Non-Binary Athletes
The Boston Athletic Association is actively working on expanding opportunities for non-binary athletes at our events, including the Boston Marathon.
With 2025 being our second year featuring non-binary entrants, we do not yet have enough data to establish non-binary qualifying times. Therefore, we will use the times listed below, as they are inclusive of the qualifying times for the two existing divisions. As we prepare for future races, participants can expect non-binary times to be updated accordingly.
That kind of makes sense.
Cheers.
2022 and 2024 there were no additional cut off off for some reason. Last year was 5.5 minutes which is a lot.
Had a feeling there might not have been one at all but wasn’t sure if it was the 2021 version where overseas athletes were banned from entering the country. As above, I could understand 2022 a bit but not last year.
Either way, although I enjoyed it I don’t think I’d go back TBH, although more likely than Chicago or NY.
