5Ks in 2021/22/23 - How Low Can You Go?

Yeah - my ego is definitely delicate enough to take any benefits that a Next2 would give me. Been thinking about trying a 5km time trial for a while now, but the weather has been gash.
It’ll be soulless and empty, but if i got a semi decent time that would be enough to inflate my ego going into the next few weeks of training!

@jorgan would be even more disappointed in my wet, needy ways!

That’s what it’s all about, isn’t it?

No need for justification - just what you need :+1:t3::clap:t3:

See;
4km swim in 1:00:08
163km ride at 33kmh.
easy 1:27 HM in the Alpha’s

Ah man, I wish I was doing a flat IM :man_shrugging:t4:
Do Lakesman have entries left?

My 5kms this year have been in beat up 4%s

The Alphas are sitting there…

So I actually lowered my 5km pb in today’s Dorney sprint.

Seems I need the extra motivation of a race to get me going

Well I’ve clearly fallen foul of the starting a challenge thread curse, first chance to run even slightly smoothly today, 23.35, more a case of how slow can you go, about 3 minutes off where I wanted to be back in Feb before my achilles issues.

I did a parkrun, my first “hard” run since my new years day (not) Parkrun attempt, I think that was a mid/short 19, but I can’t be bothered to check. Today as it was an official parkrun and everything they gave me a time - 23:18, training hasn’t been good for me clearly.

It was only after I walked out the front door that I remember that last week they said it was a different Run Director this week. One that I know likes to start on time rather than 10 minutes late like the normal one. So had to jog to the start and then saw the dog show setup and the start and finish signs were moved. The gun went and I was surprised to see everyone running in the ‘wrong’ direction!

By my reckoning it was at least 100m long, if it wasn’t for that I’d have been 43 seconds quicker and sub 20 :joy:

Good conditions for parkrunners this saturday by the looks of it. Time to test the old legs i think…

Yes, I’m dreading my first park run, hell first 5k of any sort since Covid began on Saturday.

On good form I’m a mid-low 19er, would happily take a mid 20 on Saturday and fear a 21:xx…

Will report back…

I was looking for ours … 9mph E with 15mph gusts and chucking it down with rain, which means headwind out and tailwind back. Not the worst combo down there.

Yup.
18:58 is my PB on the local course, did 19:03 a week after Outlaw.

Should be a bit quicker.
Might even snag a Top 5 :pray:t4:

At @JibberJim where is the start of Kingston park run? Up the river by the bandstand?

Never done it. Fancy a change from Bushy
