(Hard work beats talent)
I’d be winning all the time if that was the case!
Hard Work Beats Talent if Talent Doesnt Work Hard.
what they dont tell you is that all those really talented people that win, yer they tend to be some of the hardest workers also
You lot still at it here? Let me TLDR it for you:
20+ HOURS A WEEK. 'KAY?
He actually admitted he misread his audience last week and did a poll. He assumed most people trained more than 500hrs a year after he made a point, it shouldnt be 10% increase volume a week, it should be a year then someone replied, It will take me 5 years to do a 10k then. poll was as you’d expect, most people in 300-600 range, and a few BS’ers or maybe Elite AG’ers saying 900+
Probably around 550-600h when I was doing Ironmans; including bike commuting.
Sleep is an important part of training right? I must be on 2500hrs a year easy.
How many 20h weeks does AC recommend?
My last 10 years have ranged from 175 hours to 294 hrs, with most in the 200-250 mark.
No wonder i can’t KQ!!
All of them He definitely contradicts himself at times ,
I managed 650 last year. Deluded if he thinks that’s around average for adults with jobs ± kids. I couldnt do it with kids, and gave up most other things
That said one of the Preston boys did 1000hr last year. Might have something to do with him having his best results in his 40s still (not new to tri)
That’s a lot, when you think that a year is only 8760 hours. A high proportion of the discretionary hours, at least.
About the same here. Last year was 690 hours total. Weekly average was 13h15min, 770TSS and 0.73 IF
And that’s with 3 kids
I was also smackingly close to 500hrs.
Like 480 nearly every year.
Although I did take three weeks off.
2020 - 891 hours
2021 - 836 hours
2022 - 804 hours
year to date I appear to have notched up 84 runs, 58 rides and 64 swims and it’s working out at 140 hours
That’s with 4 months complete, so 400 might not be unrealistic over the year. I guess that would be my biggest training year yet. Can’t imagine doubling that
whoops sorry just noticed this is the KQ thread, see ya
Those are some big numbers Matt, hardly surprising though!
I’m normally around 500-550
That was before you moved jobs.
And had another child 🕵🏻♂️
You’ve lost 5hrs per week there.
Easy.
I’m at 215 so for this year, about 30% less than previously
