Sigma and Halfords both got the Saris H3 for £475 
I paid almost double that for mine! Wifes turbos finally showing some issues. Despite Saris’ takeover issues - I’ve already got a box of spares. Tempting.
Edit: AA discount takes that down to £426.

Great that AA are helping people buy a turbo, although Zwift can be pretty compelling- isn’t there a risk of just replacing one addiction with another?

Listening to a Cycling Tips podcast there seems to be a bit a bit of a Wahoo/Zwift pricing war about to break out.
Apparently - in the USA atm only - Wahoo are offering a Kickr Snap & full access to their Wahoo SYSTM & RGT for $29.99/month & at the end of 12 months the trainer is yours.
This appears be a retaliatory strike against Zwifts cheapish Zwift Hub trainer.
Good news for us.

I prefer systm to zwift, need to have a proper play with RGT. This may be skewed by the fact my tacx flux2 doesn’t play well with zwift. I am certain is just a firmware release as other tacx trainers work fine with but they just won’t do it. There was a really short period between a firmware update a but before teh zwift TdF map release where it worked great and then all went to crap again. It just cannot simulate the climb resistance in a smooth way.

I tried our Fulgaz today as I had a 1 week free trial.
IM have offered 6 months free as part of the Wales package. But they’ve been clever in that it’s actually 50% off an annual subscription.
I’m kinda tempted to take it up next year and just ride the course constantly during my IM power or recovery sessions. May have to try workouts on there and see what they’re like. I do enjoy zwift, but won’t really want to be paying for two.
I found it quite interesting today though. But irritating with the constant little glitches, which are either bad editing or the system’s way of dealing with me riding slower than the car that filmed it (as opposed to really slowing rhe footage down into slow mo). Don’t know. But I kinda got used to it.
I am intrigued though. There may well be life outside of zwift!

I reckon if there was an IM course I wanted to do on there I would be a lot more tempted. But then I would try a few of the other courses out too, not just the one I am going to physically go to, if that makes sense. Holding out for IM Blackpool.

There was always going to be a post-Covid slump in turbo sales - most people who are going to buy them have them now and they’ll only buy a new one when the old one breaks.
Platforms are the way forward in normal times and RGT is going to struggle to topple Zwift

Ok, I know nothing about turbos but thinking getting one might be a sensible idea for the upcoming insanity. I don’t really wanna spend 500-1000 on something. I am seeing older TACX Neos (T2800) for 200 quid or so. I’d like direct drive and needs to take through hole axle? Any suggestions. Ps I can’t easily work out if the T2800 will take through hole or not.
The Zwift one seems reasonable but at £450 is possibly more than you want to spend.
Yeah really. I feel there must enough 2nd hand ones knocking around. The T2800 I’ve seen is looking very cheap now I’ve looked on ebay!
