If its SRAM Chainset, it’s a poor design which lets dirt get into the bearings. The bike I used last year on TCR had a new BB in April and I had to replace it on TCR, having covered less then 2000km, the BB shell was full of grit. Decent bike mechanics pack load of grease on the outside of the bearing in an attempt to stop sand from entering

Already done that - I reckon it’s the same (ish) design, although this one is FSA.

I’ve started doing this. SRAM gxp chainset. Pretty much remove the chainset every long/manky ride, carefully wipe the gritty grease outwards off the drive side bearing and clean up under the non-drive side seal thing. Slap a load more grease on. Not sure whether it’s catching the grit and keeping it out, or catching the grit and making sure it’s somewhere it can get sucked in :man_shrugging:
