Brownlee to race Ironman Ireland

800m swims for the AGs

Looks like AB is going for it, what does this mean for Nice though?

I wondered if it was short but some look like they’ve done further, according to the phone tracker Kennaugh did a 31:xx swim, presuming he’s not on a pro card.

I’ve seen where it said 800m now though.

Yes, AB is crushing everyone, I suspect he’ll take the run a bit easier.

Jeff

Yeah a 6 min lead with no super runners close enough to worry him. Adam bowden I guess the only one that would have a chance at even coming close on run split alone?

Nice swim and bike brick. Now a 21 km cool down ready for Nice!

Or not. He’s averaged 3.20/km pace through 14km! :joy:

Brownlee first, Bowden third, any sign of Tim Don? Tracker doesn’t seem to be working

I really don’t think the words easy or steady are in AB’s dictionary, it’s usually just smash from start to finish :boom:

Sets the 70.3 worlds up nicely. AB’s 1:11 run split showed a slower second half - so gassed or cruised it home with the W in the bag.

That is amazing!
He’s gotta win Nice after that?
Right?

Will it be cold and foggy?

A 1:11 is, amazingly, not that special anymore. Loads run sub 1:10. Blummenfelt ran under 1:07 when I was out in Bahrain to set the world best and first 70.3 under 3:30

The whole Top 4 were all < 71 mins that day.

But…it also had nothing to do with the Norwegian tactics :see_no_evil:

But, yes. It’s kray-kray

Really? Wow.

Admittedly I don’t follow half times much but jeez.

What was wrong with the swim, too choppy or cold? They don’t have much luck with them in Ireland do they!

A fog appeared out of nowhere and disappeared soon after!

According to Simon Ward’s podcast Ali B’s FTP is 400W :astonished:

Jeff

Was it measured on a Tacx Turbo Trainer

Ramp test? :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Wonder what skipper’s is? 296W for 12 hours (but probably heavier than AB)!!

Blimey. He weighs probably what 70kg? Less even.
