Challenge events

Yes. But like I said and president ETU agreed - 3 months ago was total disasrer, but 3 months ahaed can be totally diferent . So, we just need to wait a little

This looks really interesting. Hope you stick around as even if we cant come this year theres always next year!

sure - lots can change in 3 months, and sadly given the attitude of the great public in recent days we could quite easily go into Wave 2 of Covid and further lockdown.

Hey - i have managed to get into Challenge Roth 21 but i have no idea how to organise the logistics - any support would be great

Well done - how did you get a registration code?

I went last year. We drove and camped as a small group of friends. Campsite near the swim start. Let me know if you have specific questions. Brilliant race, lovely area, fantastic few days!

Hi congrats! It was my first long distance in 2008. Great event.

You’re right to identify logistics as key with the split venues. I was lucky my wife was there (we lived in Bavaria at the time) and was happy to drive to the finish, to save me a trip back to get the car in Hilpostein.

Have you booked accommodation yet?! Again a car will give you more options. When I did another split transition race alone, I got a taxi to the start, to save the car retrieval faff. There are buses in Roth obvs.

we stayed in Nuremburg when I did this in 2010 - not too far away - bit of faff on race morning but not too bad

They opened up 50 extra places for Challenge Davos on 28 August, and I managed to get a place. Been meaning to take part for the last 2 years. Should be fun

Pro Field is pretty stacked

Kristian Blummenfeld, Sebi, Skipper, Jan Van Berkel, Laura Philip, Immogine Simmons, Fenella Langridge

Been a lovely summer here… and forecast on Saturday, wind, rain, 12 degrees

70.3 @Matthew_Spooner?

Almost,
1900m swim
50km bike, but 2200m climb, so effort and time are equivalent to a normal 70.3
21km run

Awesome - best of luck :+1:t2:

Do challenge have tracking apps?

I’ll try to find out about tracking… I’m not sure I want anyone to look at my swim time though

How does that work? Clock stops at top of hill, slowly head down, clock starts again? Competitors behind you wait for the time difference at the top to expire and then set off again?

It’s absolutely pissing down and 8 degrees in Davos

There is a timing mat at top of climb

Race abandoned due to thunderstorms. All the athletes being guided to safe areas.

That sucks!

Absolute nightmare
