this came up in a FB memory today from 2010
“is one third of #4320 this coming Sunday…”

post-10, though , yeah?
-10 what? Degrees, km, kg, minutes…
I did the same course they had been running since it’s inception as Quelle Ironman Europe. Not sure when the changes were made; mid 2010s?
Nah, we met at IMCH the year before. Or possibly Bala that year. I do remember you in your lovely motorhome and MrsF and I (and a few other pirates) in our tents.
C’mon. You’re being disingenuous there ![]()
They’ve shortened the course ![]()
3.5km swim. 175km bike. 41km run.
That’s why it is fast ![]()
ah - correct! there were many others I met at Roth for the 1st time
Brilliant - well done
Did it in 2010 when Christie Wellington broke the world record and she gave me my medal at the end of my race
I know they changed it, but it was after I did it. You saw my comment about it & the run etc further up no? If it had been that short when I did it, I would have defo sailed under 10h. It was won in 8:09 year I did it.
I seem to remember the run was about 4mi short in Bolton one year because of a ‘cone error’. Did you get that far?
What about the year the bike was 90mi.
The downside of this site is we remember everything.
same for us relayers. didn’t she come something like 6th overall that year??
Roth was still sponsored by Quelle when I did it! Long time ago…
Yes something like that - amazing
Nah. I didnt ![]()
Just a 9.75km 10km to my name. I’m also pretty sure my 1:20 half marathon was a touch short, too, but shush.
Yeah, saw the run comment. Roth just seems too fast to be believable for me.
I know what you mean, but look at Kona times in the last 10 years! All my best IM times pre-date modern GPS watches; so would have been interested to see what they came out as - although they’re not exactly that accurate.
