I’d heard it would go in seconds, but it seems I have a place??
You had to fill in a “pre-registration” first and then I got this email
"Hello Mark Brooks,
Congratulations, your registration for a starting place at the DATEV Challenge Roth 2027 was successful! We were keeping our fingers crossed and are so happy for you!
Here’s what happens next: You will automatically receive another email from us within 12 hours. This email will contain your login details and the registration link.
You must complete your registration with this information by Thursday, July 16, 2026 at 11:59:59 PM (CEST). This is important, otherwise your starting place will be forfeited!
We look forward to welcoming you to the DATEV Challenge Roth in 2027!"
When I did it I stayed in Nuremberg, it was a nice town. But less people, I managed to park on the verge just outside Roth on race day, must have been a shuttle bus but can’t remember
Ahh, you mentioned that about Kalmar, certainly will be less stressful. The split transition wasn’t too bad but I’m sure it was only around 2500 when I did it.
I’d imagine on a hot day that towpath would have been hell as it was on the northern bank! As it was I had to skirt around all the huge puddles coming back through the last wooded section, to be met by an underpass with about 4" of water in it!
Obvs I still ran a 3:33 tho init. I’m guessing with a 3:35 that wasn’t recent for you either?
