it’s disappointing for a scientist of his calabrese.

Well, sleep is shagged up, but I’ve lost a kilo in a week. Was already at my lightest in 18 months due to taper.

:open_mouth:

And I’ve not been strict.

always a bonus…

I cant wait for Noakes #sciencefacts on not needing carbs to fuel exercise. His work in Waterlogged was excellent but it would take a lot for me to even start to get my head around this, especially considering his recent takes on many other things.

LongBrownPath sounds like a very descriptive handle. Hope he/she cleans the loo afterwards

Depends if it’s evidence based or merely rationalising. I suspect it will be the latter, but we will see. Or someone will - I’m not buying his books.

That’s the thing, i have another book of his Challenging Beliefs, and the key one was the chapter on head injuries and concussion in junior sport, which now is a major topic of discussion. You even get concussion training in some courses. I used to really look up to his #sciencefacts , Lore of Running was ahead of the game, but there is no denying, unlike his views on climate change, that some of his tweeting is beyond crazy talk. Would be good to read his book, but i already know his views and sceptical of it all as I wonder if its all just confirmation bias

I don’t think I’ve followed him on other stuff. Quick look at Twitter, is he a climate change sceptic? Hard to work out given the random shit he re-tweets.

yep seems like it, as well as anti vax etc, or maybe he’s just not IT savvy and retweeting everything he reads

There seems to be a convergence of beliefs that seem to go together, LCHF, anti-vax and climate change sceptics. It’s the elite trying to control everyone.

Challenging Beliefs wasn’t written entirely by him and was a very good book. It came out at his peak of being relevant. Unfortunately I think the ‘demi-god’ status he attained with the LCHF movement in SA just got to his head, coupled with age (possibly a bit of senility) and it’s all gone downhill. Staying relevant in a fast moving world is extremely tough these days and many people don’t fair too well.

You mean his nickname Tim ‘Maga’ Noakes wasn’t a clue?

There’s a lot of money to be made from Pharma though; so whomever they are must have shares in fossil fuels instead.

Ukraine is the most corrupt country in the world as well #offtopic
